When home is no longer an option, support needs to reach families wherever they are. 💙

For Suna Malla, 33, whose husband has been missing since the flood, the cash comes at a difficult time.

“I have two children, and this is the first time we have received cash support. I want to use it to pay for my son’s school. My husband and I worked together so our children could have a good education. Even when we could not study much ourselves, we always wanted them to have that opportunity.”
Today, 72 flood-affected households from Gosainkunda-2, Rasuwa, currently staying at Mustang Gumba in Kathmandu, received Rs. 15,000 each in multipurpose cash assistance.

The amount covers 15 days, based on Rs. 1,000 per household per day, as recommended by the Government of Nepal’s Shock Responsive Social Protection Guideline. Families can decide how to use the cash based on their most urgent needs.

The support was provided in coordination with the Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, under N-30 Aert project supported by Start Fund Nepal I Start Network I UK in Nepal and implemented by DEPROSC-Nepal

After a disaster, getting back to school is part of recovery. 💙

For children affected by the floods in Nuwakot, school can offer more than learning. It can bring back routine, a sense of safety and a place to play and reconnect with friends.

At Shree Chandeshwory Secondary School, Plan International Nepal handed over an Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) Kit, Temporary Learning Centre (TLC) set and First Aid Kit to help children continue learning in a safe and supportive environment.

The materials were handed over by Mina Parajuli, Regional Manager, Plan International Nepal, to Ganesh Prasad Lamichhane, Head Teacher.

As families rebuild after the disaster, we remain committed to helping children return to learning, regain a sense of normality and feel safe at school.

Every child deserves the chance to learn, play and look ahead, even after disaster.

Help us keep that journey going. Together, we can help more children return to safe, supportive learning environments as communities rebuild.

This area was home to hydropower projects, fish farms, agricultural land and a vital water source for communities in Bidur Ward No. 4. The sudden flooding of the Bhote Koshi damaged water sources and springs, leaving communities without reliable access to drinking water.

In response, Plan International Nepal and DEPROSC-Nepal, working alongside the community and local government, are installing water pipes from the Kalikhola source in Ward No. 12 using cable-crossing technology.

Once completed, the system is expected to provide safe drinking water to approximately 200 households, or around 900 families, in Ward No. 4.

Together with communities, partners and local government, we are working to restore essential services when they are needed most.

Reaching families where roads cannot. 💙

Food baskets and hygiene kits were airlifted to 220 households in Aamachhodingmo-2, Rasuwa, one of the areas hardest hit by the floods and where road access remains difficult.

🏠 Rebuilding everyday life after the flood

In Bidur-4, Nuwakot, 110 households received kitchen kits with gas cylinders and stoves, NFI kits, and hygiene kits through the N-30 Alert project.

For 53-year-old Mina, whose home was completely washed away, the support means something deeply personal. Now living in a rented room with her 100-year-old mother, she says the gas cylinder and stove will help her mother have a warm meal every day.

Small things can make a big difference as families rebuild.

For families rebuilding after a flood, food and hygiene are not just supplies. They are immediate essentials. ❤️

Through the N-30 Alert project, supported by Start Fund Nepal and Start Network and funded by UK in Nepal, Plan International Nepal and DEPROSC-Nepal reached flood-affected families in Tarkeshwar and Belkotgadhi with essential support.

When the flood washed away the local government office, essential services had to continue from a temporary shelter.

In Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, Rasuwa, intermittent electricity has made it difficult for staff to carry out day-to-day work and respond to the needs of flood-affected communities.

To support continuity of essential services, we, together with DEPROSC-Nepal, handed over a 5 KVA generator to Gosaikunda Rural Municipality. We also provided 30 power banks (20,000 mAh each) to help staff and representatives stay connected when electricity is unavailable.

As communities rebuild, keeping local government services functioning is an important part of recovery.

रसुवाको गोसाइँकुण्ड गाउँपालिकामा विद्युत् आपूर्ति नियमित नहुँदा कर्मचारीहरूलाई दैनिक काम सञ्चालन गर्न र बाढी प्रभावित समुदायका आवश्यकतामा प्रतिक्रिया दिन चुनौती भइरहेको छ।
