ISARD was formed in 1990 with an aim to empower people to mobilize available resources for living standard improvement. ISARD started its program form a single village in Sindhupalchowk which now works in six different Village Development Committee VDCs; 43 villages. From 1993 International Council for Friends of Nepal,The Netherlands(ICFON) started supporting ISARD and the process has continued s

ince. Social Awareness, Agriculture and Livestock, Education, Community Health, Environmental Awareness, Infrastructure, Micro-finance & Micro-credit are the programs run in the project.

Yesterday morning at 2:51 AM, an earthquake struck, jolting everyone awake and evoking memories of the devastation caused in 2015.
The image shows house in Karthali's Syangsing following this morning's tremor, where a woman residing in the house sustained injuries. There are no additional reports regarding the aftereffects or injuries from our operations in Sindhupalchowk. This serves as a stark reminder to remain vigilant and prepared for potential disasters.

For years, ISARD has been empowering smallholder farmers and SMEs in Sindhupalchok. We've previously supported the cultivation and processing of Argeli and Lokta in Piskar and Dhuskun. Now, we're excited to collaborate with local SMEs to produce eco-friendly craft paper, used for creating incense, handbooks, and beautiful gift packaging. 🌱📜

Here are some pictures from Pabidal, a Thami village in Tripursundari Rural Municipality. ISARD has been supporting farmers with necessary agricultural inputs from seeds to truss tunnels, enabling them to move towards commercial vegetable cultivation.
We are working towards building self-sufficiency, boosting income generation, and promoting community development.
Pabidal is growing to become a commercial village. 🌱

At our demonstration farm in Sunkoshi, vermicomposting is in full swing!
Our JTA walks us through vermi compost preparation process at Sunkoshi - active vermibeds to ready-to-use compost and final packaging. It’s all about turning organic waste into rich soil nutrients for healthier crops and sustainable farming.
