We’ve reached Rasuwa — twice.
Our first visit was an immediate response to the needs of flood-affected communities. We arrived with non-perishable food items, mattresses, power banks, a generator and fuel, and solar lights. We also met with the Ward Chairpersons of Wards 4 and 5 of Uttargaya Rural Municipality, visited the holding centre, and, most importantly, spent time with the families affected by the floods who are currently staying there.
Listening to the families and understanding the situation at the holding centre helped us identify what support was still needed. The requests raised by affected families and the holding centre, along with discussions with local representatives and guidance from the Government, shaped our second response.
We returned to Rasuwa with additional tarpaulins, clothes for families staying at the holding centre, non-perishable food, ECD materials for children, kitchen utensils for the centre, and hygiene kits.
