Prerana was the first care and support group formed in Nepal, predominately managed by positive people. Vision:
• An environment where PLHA can access treatment, care & support and society free from HIV & AIDS. Goals:
• To mitigate the transmission of HIV & AIDS among the general community and empower PLHAs to have a dignified life.
• Develop a comprehensive package of treatment care & support fo
r PLHAs through effective referral and linkage with other service providers.
• To develop capacity of PRERANA and other organizations in implementing HIV & AIDS programs effectively.
• To advocate for legal and property rights of women and children infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. Objectives:
• To create awareness on the spread and prevention of HIV and AIDS and access to health services
• To provide social and economic support to people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS to restore their dignity and live a quality life.
• To provide continuum treatment care and support services for PLHAs.
• To provide counseling and psychological support to PLHA’s to take away the fears and to rebuild a sense of self worth and hope.
• To strengthen PRERANA’s technical capacities to plan and design programs those are tailored for the circumstances of a particular community.
• Build strategic and multi-sectoral partnerships including government agencies, donors, private sector, religious institutions and schools to foster collective action, maximize resources and build consensus in addressing the HIV and AIDS epidemic. Program focus
