On the occasion, it was shared that over 3.37 million people underwent eye checkups through Netrajyoti's hospitals, treatment centres and various outreach programmes in 2025 while 2,66,401 cases of surgery were recorded during the period.

Despite people's increased access to eye treatment, the risk of blindness still remains a significant concern in Nepal, specialists have warned.

Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS) and the Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted (NABP) signed a Project Agreement for 2025–2029 to enhance eye health services, prevent avoidable blindness, and improve rehabilitation support in Lumbini and Karnali Provinces.
