AIN Development Dialogue 2026 highlights

Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Shishir Khanal graced the inaugural ceremony of AIN Development Dialogue 2026 as the Chief Guest.

Hon. Minister appreciated the contributions made by International NGOs to Nepal’s social and economic development. Hon. Minister highlighted the Government’s renewed priorities in line with the aspirations and mandate of the Nepali people.

He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to working closely with development partners and stakeholders to advance sustainable, inclusive and resilient economic growth and improve lives at the grassroots level. Hon. Minister Khanal reiterated that reforms require partnership, transparency and trust between the state and civil society.

The event chaired by AIN Chairperson Dr SP Kalaunee was graced by distinguished guests Hon. Top Bahadur Magar, Chairperson, NHRC, Ms. Radhika Aryal, Secretary, Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security, Hon. Samikshya Baskota, Parliamentary Committee Chairperson, Ms. Geertrui Louwagie, Deputy Head of Cooperation, EU, Mr. Ken Shimizu, FAO Representative for Nepal and Bhutan, Hon. Reshu Dhungana Aryal, Member of National Planning Commission and Mr. Arjun Bhattarai, Chairperson, NGO Federation.

Commemorating three decades of partnership, collaboration, and shared accomplishments, AIN Development Dialogue highlighted Nepal’s remarkable development progress across sectors, reducing poverty and hunger while improving agriculture, health, education, WASH, and emergency response systems and overall impacts made through collective efforts and contributions by the AIN Member INGOs in partnership with NGOs; aligning with government plan and priorities. The achievements reflected better food security, expanded basic services, and strengthened resilience against disasters, contributing to more inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.

Parallel sessions & panel discussions on various themes like Health, Education. GEDSI, Livelihood, Water Governance and Climate Change were organized in the presence of eminent panelists and experts.

AIN Member INGOs showcased their impact through interactive stalls, giving nearly 400 participants from govt, CSOs, private sector, media & academia the chance to see firsthand the sector’s contribution to Nepal’s development. The stalls brought stories, data, and field work to life — turning dialogue into real connection. AIN member INGOs, with NGOs and government, have helped build a more inclusive and resilient Nepal.

The 30th anniversary celebration became truly memorable when the Chief Guest Hon. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal felicitated AIN’s founding members, former Chairpersons, and long-serving staff. A tribute to 3 decades of leadership, loyalty, and service that made AIN what it is today!

Government leaders, CSOs & development partners came together to talk about what works for Nepal: partnership, inclusion, and resilience. From policy to communities, the message was clear — lasting progress happens when we build it together!!
