𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺
Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) organized an interaction program on Mero Kitta to enhance the understanding of bank officials regarding the newly introduced system and its operational functionalities. The program aimed to provide participants with a practical understanding of institutional registration process, user ID creation and other operational aspects of the system.

The program was organized following the regulatory requirement for banks and financial institutions to register as institutional users in the Mero Kitta System for the payment of charges related to land-related services, including land maps, field books, plot register prints, etc. Participants were also provided with practical guidance on the documentation and information required for registration.

The session was delivered by the officials from Survey Department, Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, and was attended by the officials from IT and Credit Administration Departments of member banks.

𝗖𝗼𝗣 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), in collaboration with Invest for Impact Nepal (IIN), successfully conducted a session under its Community of Practice (CoP) initiative on sustainable finance, bringing together bankers from across the industry.

The session focused on “Climate Scenario Analysis and Stress Testing”, as climate-related risks continue to impact economies and businesses worldwide. The program aimed to strengthen the capacity of bankers to understand how climate-related events may affect borrowers, sectors and financial portfolios, and how banks can better prepare for and manage such risks.

The session was led by Mr. Alex MacGillivray, Executive Director, Joint Impact Model, and Mr. Aniket Jalgaonkar, Founder, ClimateWyse, who shared their expertise and insights on the concepts, methodologies and practical applications of climate scenario analysis and stress testing. During the session, the experts highlighted global trends and regional developments while also providing valuable perspectives relevant to Nepal's banking industry.

The CoP on sustainable finance is part of NBA's ongoing efforts to support the banking sector in advancing sustainable finance practices and strengthening resilience to emerging environmental and climate-related risks.

Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) organized a virtual session on “Bhu-Sewa Integration” targeting officials of member banks across all seven provinces.

The session was organized to further strengthen banks’ understanding of the operational and technical aspects of Bhu-Sewa implementation. The program discussed on the Bhu-Sewa integration process, operational workflow, implementation challenges and practical aspects related to Bhu Sewa system.

The virtual session saw broad participation from key departments including Credit Administration, Legal, Operations, Risk, Branch Management, among others with participants joining from various provinces.

Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) successfully organized a training program on “Malpot Related Matters and Bhu-Sewa Integration” to enhance the capacity of banking professionals.

The training focused on providing an in-depth understanding with particular emphasis on Malpot-related issues and the implementation of Bhu-Sewa. The program highlighted the integration and operationalization of Bhu-Sewa, covering procedural, technical and practical aspects related to Bhu-Sewa implementation and operational challenges.

The program was attended by Credit Administration, Legal, Operational, Risk Management departments of the member banks.

The Executive Committee Members of Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) held a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Mr. Kiran Pandit.

During the meeting, NBA officials extended their warm congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Pandit for a successful tenure ahead.

The Deputy Governor Mr. Pandit emphasized the importance of collective efforts in ensuring the stability of banks to build a resilient and sustainable financial sector.

The Executive Committee Members of Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Honorable Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Waglé extending their congratulations and best wishes.

During the meeting, NBA officials shared that the banking sector remains fully committed to support the government in revitalizing the economy through increased investment and contributing towards country’s overall economic development - as the banking sector stands ready to play a proactive role in strengthening the financial intermediation and fostering sustainable economic growth in Nepal.

Hon. Finance Minister Dr. Wagle acknowledged the banking sector as a vital pillar of the national economy and assured that its stability and growth remain a top priority for the government, and shared that the government shall address emerging challenges and hurdles faced by the financial sector.

12th Feb – 30th March 2026 - Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA), in collaboration with Visa, successfully organized a series of cybersecurity awareness and capacity-building programs across all seven provinces, aiming to strengthen cybersecurity resilience within the banking sector.

The initiative was taken in response to the growing cybersecurity concerns in Nepal’s financial ecosystem. With the rapid expansion of digital banking services, the sector has witnessed a rise in cyber threats and financial fraud incidents, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced awareness and preparedness among banking professionals.

The provincial-level programs were designed with an objective of strengthening the knowledge and capacity of bank officials in identifying, preventing and responding to emergent cyber frauds. The sessions focused on emerging cybersecurity risks, fraud trends, regulatory provision and practical strategies to enhance digital security within financial institutions. The workshops provided a platform for knowledge sharing and interactive learning, enabling participants to gain practical insights into cybersecurity challenges. The sessions also emphasized the importance of strengthening internal controls, improving incident response mechanisms and promoting a culture of cyber hygiene within institutions.

The program was participated by more than 300 bank professionals including regional province heads, branch managers, and other bank officials.
