When we launched the 𝟏𝟐-𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲, our goal was simple: help our Fellows become not just successful professionals, but active, thoughtful, and conscious citizens.
From exploring the foundations of political thought and Nepal's constitutional history to running their own 𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, our Fellows showed us what genuine curiosity and respectful debate look like.

A huge shoutout to our 𝐂𝐚𝐏𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 for organizing detail, and deep gratitude to our 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 for their constant guidance and support. Most of all, thank you to all our Fellows for showing up with curious minds and open hearts every single week.

It begins with a single spark, one empowered youth who chooses to serve. That spark grows into a collective fire, fuelling a sustainable, equitable society, where every generation lifts the next, carrying forward a legacy built on empathy, compassion, connected back to the simple act of paying it forward.

We're proud to share the remarkable sparks of impact that our Fellows have initiated in their respective communities across Nepal, with the involvement of Aakar Nepal. Through mentorship, hands-on workshops, and real-world projects, they are turning ideas into action, addressing challenges from environmental conservation to social awareness, and building a more just and equitable Nepal.

Our young changemakers are doing more than making a direct impact through their actions. They've also ignited fires in the hearts of their juniors and among our other Fellows. They are showing us how true leadership begins with service, and that compassion, turned into action, creates lasting change.

𝐀 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬!

This year, all 21 Fellows secured scholarships to pursue their +2 education. Among them, 𝟏𝟒 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 (𝟔𝟑.𝟔%) received scholarships from 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐊𝐌𝐂), while the remaining Fellows earned additional scholarships at institutions including 𝐕.𝐒. 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, and 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞.

We are grateful to V. S. Niketan and Mega for being longstanding partners and supporters of Samaanta Foundation. This year, we have also received a scholarship from Liverpool College, and we are excited about this new partnership.

Every year, our senior high school Fellows organize an 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 to introduce the Foundation’s values, mission, and the purpose of the Fellowship to our new Cohort Fellows.

Earlier this June, our senior high school Fellows successfully organized the Orientation Program for the new members of our 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭, focused on the theme of “Paying It Forward.” We wanted to introduce the Foundation’s norms and values, and to help our new Fellows realize that Samaanta is a safe space to learn, grow, and embrace every opportunity that comes their way, including supporting one another.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our 13th Cohort Fellows for organizing this meaningful and fruitful program.

We recently hosted 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 for Fellows who have just completed their +2 and are preparing for the next phase of their journey.

The session focused on helping our Fellows explore bachelor's programs, understand diverse career pathways in Nepal and abroad, and make informed decisions aligned with their interests, aspirations, and strengths.

A heartfelt thank you to our inspiring Samaanta alumni—Manisha, Bikram, and Dawa, who have been working in diverse fields and generously shared their journeys and practical insights. Manisha Deshar, a BSc CSIT graduate from St. Xavier's College, is currently working as a Data Analyst at Bhoos. Bikram Bista, who completed his BSW from Thames International College, has been currently working as Office Service Coordinator in Classrooms in the Clouds Nepal, and Dawa Lhamu Tamang , a BBA graduate from The British College and currently serving as a Finance Consultant at Elevate Advisory. Each one offered valuable guidance drawn from their own academic and professional experiences.

Their stories and advice made the session meaningful and impactful for our Fellows as they take their next academic and career steps.

𝟑𝟎 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 have completed a 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲!

During this time, our Fellows attended online and offline sessions primarily focused on democracy and politics. Some of the topics of the online sessions were 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥, and 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥'𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲. The offline sessions included “𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧: 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞”, a session on the Constitution of Nepal 2072 and Stories of Bikash. These sessions were designed and facilitated by our “𝐂𝐚𝐏𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦”,, which consists of senior Fellows, staff members, and a high school Fellow from the Samaanta Foundation. Our sessions in Samaanta Hall provided an open and in-person space for Fellows to interact and share their thoughts freely.

Throughout the journey, Fellows explored, debated, and shared their perspectives on various democratic and political scenarios. Participants acquired a deeper knowledge of Nepal’s political history, spanning from the Rana Shasan to the current political landscape. And through interactive participation, we sharpened our understanding of what it means to be an active citizen.

This journey was specifically designed to provide our Fellows with a deeper understanding of politics and its importance following the Gen-Z protests across Nepal, which have significantly changed the course of our country.
