Students from Kantipur English High School visited the China Cultural Center in Nepal today for a cultural learning program featuring a mix of traditional arts, visual experience, and interactive activities.

The visit included the Inner Mongolia Photo Exhibition, where students observed a series of photographs showcasing the culture and landscapes of the region. They also took part in Chinese paper-cutting, calligraphy, and VR viewing, along with recreational activities such as table tennis and basketball.

A Children’s Day celebration featuring cultural exchange and educational support was held on June 4 at a local school near the Upper Tamakoshi V Hydropower Project in Nepal. The event was jointly organized by PowerChina, the China Foundation for Rural Development Nepal Office, the China Cultural Center in Nepal, and the host school, Shree Gaurishankar Secondary School, bringing together more than 400 people including students, teachers, parents, local officials, and community representatives.

The program included Chinese cultural exhibitions, traditional handicraft demonstrations, educational donations, and friendly sports activities. A newly established library supported by PowerChina was officially opened, while books, learning materials, and sports equipment were donated to the school. Participants said the event not only celebrated International Children’s Day but also promoted cultural understanding, educational development, and people-to-people friendship between China and Nepal.

The “Tiantan Images” Global Film Tour opened in Kathmandu on June 2, marking its first arrival in South Asia. The event gathered over 160 guests from China and Nepal, celebrating cultural exchange through cinema. The opening film Black Dog, an award-winning Beijing International Film Festival title, was screened followed by an interaction with director Zhang Qi.

Officials and cultural representatives from both countries highlighted the importance of strengthening China–Nepal cultural ties. The three-day showcase, featuring six acclaimed Chinese films, continues at QFX Theatre, Thamel, promoting mutual understanding and friendship through the power of film.

The Everest Summiteers Summit 2026 was held grandly in Kathmandu, bringing together over 200 climbers, environmental experts, and mountain community representatives from 26 countries under the theme “Himalayan Innovation for a Sustainable Future.”

The event honored 176 outstanding Everest climbers, including legendary Nepali mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Chinese climber He Jing, recognized as the first woman in history to summit all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters without supplemental oxygen.

During the summit, He Jing inspired audiences with her powerful message: “Courage has no gender.” She shared her journey from discovering mountaineering in 2006 to achieving one of the greatest milestones in high-altitude climbing history.

The summit also highlighted the importance of protecting the Himalayan environment and strengthening international cooperation for sustainable mountain tourism.

As sponsor partners, China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office, the China National Tourist Office Kathmandu, and the China Cultural Center in Nepal showcased Chinese culture, tourism, and aviation initiatives, receiving warm appreciation from climbers and guests throughout the event.

On May 19, the 2026 China Tourism Day Promotion Conference was successfully held in Kathmandu, jointly organized by the China National Tourist Office Kathmandu, China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office, and the China Cultural Center in Nepal. Around 290 guests from the tourism, aviation, business, media, and cultural sectors attended the event.

The conference introduced China’s tourism resources, convenient travel measures, and Kathmandu–China flight services, while Nepal Tourism Board representatives also promoted Nepal’s tourism attractions. The event featured cultural displays, promotional videos, awards for outstanding travel agents, and a lucky draw with prizes including model aircraft, mascot gifts, and round-trip flight tickets between China and Nepal.

Participants said the event strengthened tourism cooperation and cultural exchange between China and Nepal. The program received wide coverage from both Chinese and Nepali media.
