We, IAAS Nepal LC HICAST, have successfully conducted exchange event for our tenure which included the members IAAS Nepal LC VKC.

Hence, for this exchange event we had chosen the title "Precision Agriculture and Digital Farming" where we presented the use of GIS technology in agricultural lands. IAAS Nepal LC VKC gave presentation on the topic "IPM For Sustainable Agriculture".

Finally, thank you to everyone who joined us to share ideas on this exchange event. We hope we can collaborate on more in the future.

Greeting FamilIAAS!

The 15th of Asar in the Nepalese calendar is a special day. It's not just another day, it's Rastriya Dhan Diwas, a day that celebrates the start of the rice planting season in Nepal. Recognized since Asar 2062 BS, it's a time when the nation's farmers and even those in other professions come together to honor the importance of agriculture in the country.

On the occasion of National Rice Day, every one of us should recognize the critical importance of rice, our staple food. Hence, we should thank all the farming communities as their hard work satisfies our daily need.

Greetings FamilIAAS!!

IAAS Nepal LC HICAST was looking forward to the Asia Pacific Directors' Meeting 2026, hosted and Organized by IAAS Nepal LC KU and IAAS Nepal at Kathmandu University under the theme "From Himalayas to Horizons: Regional Pathway for Sustainable And Women Empowered Agriculture". It was a 3-day event from June 4th to June 6th.

Our expectations were definitely fulfilled as we were provided with the opportunity for learning and networking while highlighting the theme of sustainable agriculture and empowering women in the development.

We look forward to participating in more events for fostering meaningful collaborations in the future.

For Day 30, We have Fapar(Buckwheat).

Kodo, or Fagopyrum tartaricum, commonly known as Bitter bukwheat is an important hardy crop grown in the high altitude mountains and hilly region of Nepal. It is a short season crop does well in low fertility or acidic soil. Buckwheat is known to have higher protein content compared to other cereal crops.

Similar to millet, it also used for making alcohol. It also contains high rutin content that strengthens the blood vessels and improves blood circulation. Hence, it improves cardiovascular health as well.
