Bangladesh MHM Platform, Days for Girls, The MH Alliance Nepal, WaterAid, in collaboration with UNICEF, the Global Menstrual Collective, and allied organisations, invite you to participate in the regional virtual session on the Shared Agenda for Action on Menstrual Health and Hygiene.

We aim to reach governments, organizations, networks, and individuals working in menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) across Asia, and is part of a global co-creation process of a shared, evidence-based agenda that seeks to strengthen prioritization and advocacy in MHH and enhance the work already being done in the region. Please note this session will be conducted in English. We hope to convene a future session in additional languages. If your organization would like to help co-convene in another language, please reach out.

हिजो (२८ अप्रिल २०२६) INSEC द्वारा आयोजित मानव अधिकार आयोगहरूको १० वर्षे कार्य अवधिको समीक्षा तथा सरकारलाई सुझाव प्रस्तुत गर्ने कार्यक्रममा यस संस्थाका अध्यक्ष श्री Krishna Kumari Waiba ले गरिमामय सहभागिता जनाउनु भयो। समीक्षाका क्रममा उहाँले आयोगहरूको औचित्य, उनीहरूले निर्वाह गरेका महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका, नागरिक समाजका संघसंस्थासँगको सहकार्य, हासिल भएका उपलब्धिहरू तथा नेपाल सरकारले विनियोजन गरेको बजेटको प्रभावकारिता लगायत आयोगहरूले प्रस्तुत गरेका सुझावहरूको कार्यान्वयन अवस्थाबारे गहन विश्लेषण प्रस्तुत गर्नु भयो। साथै, आगामी दिनमा आयोगहरूको प्रभावकारीता अभिवृद्धि गर्न सरकारलाई महत्वपूर्ण तथा सान्दर्भिक सुझावहरू पनि राख्नु भयो।

🌟 Peaceful Protest: From Rights to Responsibilities🌟
We are pleased to share the launch of our new video, showcasing our capacity-building workshops with youth activists in Kathmandu. 🎥Nepal’s youth represent a powerful force for change, consistently advocating for transparency, accountability, and social justice. However, youth-led movements increasingly face challenges such as online harassment, surveillance, and restrictions on freedom of expression. In response, our workshop focused on strengthening the resilience, digital safety, and rights awareness of Gen Z activists, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to navigate these challenges effectively.

On this World Health Day, we are reminded that health is a fundamental human right—not a privilege. Theme: "Together for health, Stand with science." We highlight that safe abortion is essential healthcare. Every woman and girl has the right to make informed choices about her body, access safe and legal services, and live with dignity. Through this video, we raise our voices for reproductive justice, bodily autonomy, and equitable access to safe abortion services—because no one should risk their life for lack of care. Let’s work together to ensure that rights are respected, services are accessible, and health systems are inclusive for all.

We express our serious concern over the proposed merger of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens with other ministries. This is not just an administrative decision—it directly impacts social justice, inclusion, and the protection of millions of women, children, and senior citizens across Nepal. Organisations working on the frontlines, including e Beyond Beijing Committee (BBC) Nepal and AATWIN, have strongly opposed this move, highlighting the risk it poses to the rights, identity, and protection systems of vulnerable groups. As highlighted in the 2021 Census, women make up 51.5% of the population, children 33.8%, and senior citizens 10.2%. Weakening a dedicated ministry that serves such a large population raises serious concerns about accountability and effectiveness. We support efforts to improve efficiency—but not at the cost of equality, dignity, and protection. Development must be measured by how well it safeguards those most at risk. We urge policymakers and leaders to reconsider this decision and prioritize strengthening, not merging, this vital ministry. of Women Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen - Nepal
