The Executive Committee Meeting of Saksham Yuwa Nepal, the National Award Operator of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award in Nepal, was held on 16th August 2026. The meeting brought together the committee to review key organizational, project, and financial updates, while also discussing strategic collaborations aimed at expanding the reach of the Award to more marginalized and underserved young people across Nepal.

The committee discussed opportunities to create greater exposure and meaningful experiences for Award Participants and Award Holders.

Together, we remain committed to strengthening the organization and creating more opportunities for young people to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to thrive and become responsible, engaged, and empowered members of society.

Week 10 of our Testimonial Series

This week, we feature Karimistha Nugha Shrestha, Silver Awardee from Kaasthamandap Vidhyalaya.
Her Award journey reflects the power of staying consistent while pursuing what she genuinely loves β€” from creating art and dedicating extra hours to tennis practice, to taking on a physically and mentally demanding course at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling. Along the way, Karimistha built resilience and discipline, learning to embrace unfamiliar challenges rather than shy away from them. Today, she carries forward not just her Silver Award, but a renewed sense of pride and purpose that continues to shape how she approaches her goals.

Read Karimistha's inspiring testimonial and discover how the Award continues to empower young people to unlock their full potential.

It was an honour to visit the Foundation office and sit down with Secretary General Martin Houghton-Brown and the Senior Leadership Team.

As one of the fastest-growing National Award Operators, this moment meant a lot to us. None of our growth would be possible without the incredible local partnerships that make the Award real for young people across Nepal, from to youth justice settings to Nepal Scouts . Together, we're opening doors for the young people who need it most.

Our National Chair, Dev Raj Ghimire, joined the conversation to share what's driving our momentum on the ground and how global strategy and local leadership can come together to scale our impact even further.

Grateful for the partnership, the belief, and the road ahead. πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅πŸ€
