Satuwa/सतुवा/Love Apple/Paris polyphylla Smith
Distributed from 1900 to 3100 m throughout Nepal. Prefers damp, shady, moist and humus rich soil under canopy of forest in full shade to partial shade near streams in north facing slopes.
Funded by the UK government’s Darwin Initiatives/ Biodiversity Challenge Funds, the goal of the project is conserving 11 high-value Himalayan plants and fungi through sustainable management, and traceable and equitable trade.
