We are proud to share the launch of the 'Trauma Hub Project in Nepal'; an important step toward strengthening trauma care services across highway corridors and key transport routes in Nawalparasi East and Rautahat districts.

This initiative will establish functional trauma hubs in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), provincial governments, and local authorities; ensuring timely and effective care when it matters most.

We are honored to mark this milestone alongside Dr. Subodh K. Mallik and Anita Mallik, Chair and Vice-Chair of Subonita Foundation; our executive board members, especially our treasurer, Heem Shakya, and senior management.

Together, we are committed to improving emergency care and saving lives. We look forward to the journey ahead.

BNMT Nepal actively contributed to the 12th National Summit of Health and Population Scientists in Nepal, a key national platform organized by Nepal Health Research Council, that brought together researchers, policymakers, academicians, program implementers, and development partners. Through this engagement, BNMT Nepal showcased evidence in tuberculosis control and stigma reduction to inform policy and practice. From BNMT, Anchal Thapa, Health Economist, presented findings demonstrating that 3HP TB preventive therapy is cost-effective and feasible for household contacts in both urban and rural settings, with high acceptance and completion rates, while highlighting the importance of decentralized and locally adapted implementation for efficiency. And, Dr Kritika Dixit, Research Manager, shared insights on TB-related stigma, emphasizing how sociocultural factors shape stigma in Nepal; underscoring the need for people-centered approaches such as counselling, confidentiality, peer and family support, and gender-sensitive care, to improve TB outcomes. Together, these contributions reflect BNMT Nepal’s commitment to generating and translating evidence into more effective, inclusive TB programs.

Our colleague Bhola Rai, M&E officer, The Global Fund UNDP Nepal funded National TB Project, supporting the TB focal person in Bardiya district in reviewing and verifying data in the eTB and DHIS2 systems and cross-checking the presumptive TB register and TB treatment register with online records, together with the TB focal person, DPCs, and health facility in-charges in Dang district.
This support helps ensure accurate data and strengthens TB reporting and services.

Preventing Tuberculosis (TB) has traditionally been a long, difficult road, often requiring daily medication for 6 to 9 months. But there is a better way that’s changing the game for patients and health workers.

It’s called 3HP, and it’s doing so much more than just preventing illness. By shortening treatment to just 12 weekly doses, we are transforming how care is delivered in the communities that need it most:

📍 Care closer to home: It’s much easier for community health workers to support a weekly check-in than a daily one.
🏥 Stronger clinics: Fewer pharmacy refills and clinic visits mean shorter lines and less burden on our overstretched doctors and nurses.
🙌 Better for patients: Less travel time and fewer costs mean people can stay healthy without it disrupting their jobs or lives.

This is a "system-strengthening" win that deserves more attention. When we make treatment easier, we make health for all a reality.

Let’s keep pushing for smarter, faster ways to .
