CZOP has been emerged as a movement that advocates for children’s basic right during and after armed-conflicts. Building up on a movement that developed in Nepal in early 2001, this coalition has been forged to magnify and strengthen the efforts to declare Children and Schools as Zones of Peace and urge the adults and their institutions, including the state and non-state parties, to fulfill their obligations towards children in a strong, united, neutral, and effective manner.

CZOP Participates in National Consultation Workshop on Child Rights and Protection

CZOP was pleased to participate in the National Consultation Workshop on the effective implementation of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of the National Children's Policy, 2080, the National Strategy and Implementation Action Plan to End Child Marriage, 2082, and the Child-Responsive Budget Code (Operation and Management) Guidelines, 2082.

The two-day workshop, jointly organized by the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security and CWIN Nepal, brought together representatives from all seven provinces, government ministries, development partners, and civil society organizations to discuss strengthening child rights and protection systems in Nepal.

The discussions focused on effective policy implementation, strengthening coordination among federal, provincial, and local governments, ending child marriage through multi-sectoral collaboration, promoting community-level interventions, and ensuring child-responsive budgeting. Participants also emphasized the importance of adequate resource allocation, regular monitoring, and strong collaboration among stakeholders for meaningful implementation.

CZOP remains committed to working alongside government agencies, development partners, and civil society to advance the rights, protection, and well-being of every child through coordinated action and evidence-based advocacy.
