PADS-Nepal founded over 10 years ago, is one of the community management National Non-Governmental Organization. Its early focus was on improving infrastructure in remote areas and agriculture extension and natural resources management. Today, it has been expanded to a wider range of activities to promote equitable and sustainable livelihood by addressing the causes, rather than symptoms of povert
y and social injustice. It has expanded its service to different programs including improving people's access to food, health, education, economic opportunities, natural resources management focusing on forestry development and safe environment, promoting governance, peace, disaster risk reduction and strengthening the ability of the poor and marginalized to exercise their rights and participate in the decisions that affect their lives. PADS-Nepal works through both formal and informal collaboration at multiple levels - with local NGOs, CBOs, government agencies, communities, civil society groups, federations, networks and private sector. PADS-Nepal is currently working in partnership with community level local CBOs, different networks and different community groups. Partnership with local institutions is an important means of increasing the access and sustainability of PADS-Nepal programs and also strengthening the institutional capacity of CBOs. PADS-Nepal collaboration with government line agencies ensures that its programs complement local level plans and policies implementation and refinement. PADS Nepal has been working with the poorest and most downtrodden people who are typically social outcasts, women, children and disadvantaged groups in general consisting of different castes and races. Its services are for raising their voice, inclusion in the main development stream of the country and poverty reduction. PADS- Nepal believes that individual could develop when associated in a community group and sustainable community development is only possible when all the individuals and segments of community empowered and entwined in development initiatives from grassroots to national level. PADS Nepal has extended its services in over 23 districts of Nepal and experienced working in different sectors, with diverse communities, and in all geographical areas of Nepal covering the rural area like the districts of Karnali Zone to the urban areas like Kathmandu valley. It has delivered services to the most backward society to the high level officials and higher level civil society representatives. Its excellence is due to its diverse skill to deliver services covering education, forestry, agriculture, local development, foreign employment, peace and governance, conflict transformation, reconciliation, women’s empowerment, population and environment, water and sanitation, micro-finance, adult education, sericulture, skill development and income generation, survey and research in different aspects. Currently it is guided by the theme of corporate responsibility and economic rights of civil society. To extend the above mentioned services PADS Nepal has utilized funds received from national and international agencies including the CBOs, district line agencies, local bodies, departments, secretaries and ministries of Gov of Nepal and the international organizations like DFID, WWF, SNV, Geneva Global USA, UAE, USAID, EU, ADB, UNDP, DFID.
