World Ride

The mission of World Ride is to empower women globally through mountain biking. We work to help get local women mountain biking in each place.

We currently work in Nepal and Guatemala and will be expanding our mission to Peru, Lesotho and beyond in 2021. World Ride works to empower women globally through mountain biking. We work with local women in Nepal, Guatemala and soon Peru and Lesotho. We establish bike libraries for women to borrow from, support women through leadership and guide training, and support women who race mountain bikes

. We organize trips that are guided by some of the women that we work with to allow visitors to get to meet these women, tour their country and experience the cultures. World Ride hosts a series of fundraising online movie nights that feature women's mountain bike films. The proceeds from these movie nights go to supporting our projects around the world.

2025 has been a tough year for women, a tough year for traveling, but a stellar year for the World Ride guides and program leaders. All around the globe, we bring communities of women together, build confidence and create connections with people and trails.

In 2026, we’re going to get more women on the trails by expanding our local bike libraries. In Nepal, Guatemala, Peru, Lesotho, Botswana, Tanzania and Bhutan, we can get 100 women on the trail by purchasing 5 new bikes. Our 2025 Impact

Like most nonprofits, it has been a challenging year for World Ride. The majority of our funding comes from our trips and we have seen that many have been hesitant this year. We have cut our budgets, but still have been able to make an impact around the globe.

🚲 70+ women rode in the Guatemala Travesia event
🚲 Improved Guatemala Trip Itinerary + Additional Guide Training
🚲 2 trips completed in Tanzania up Mt Kilimanjaro
🚲 We released our third film about our Bhutan program
🚲 We got to speak at the Summit
🚲 We hosted our first Bellingham, WA retreat led by our guide Nishma from Nepal

Last week, we kicked off our Guatemala season!

We had a stellar group guided by our one and only Christa! They all had an amazing time on our improved itinerary- riding the trails around Antigua and then got treated to a spectacular sunset at Lake Atitlan. A couple of people even extended their trip with an Acantenango Volcano hike.

Who wants to join for an upcoming Guatemala trip? We have trips booking in January, February and April of 2026!
