Standing Together for Nepal
We are deeply saddened by the devastating floods that have affected Rasuwa, Dhading, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Chitwan, and other parts of Nepal. On 26 August 2026, a sudden and catastrophic surge swept through the Bhote Koshi River system, causing widespread destruction. The disaster has caused a tragic loss of lives, 165 bodies recovered, and hundreds of people still reported missing, while homes, roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure have been severely damaged. Rescue and recovery operations remain extremely challenging. Women’s Foundation Nepal (WFN) stands in solidarity with all affected families and communities. Women, children, elderly people, and vulnerable households are often among those most severely affected by disasters. We are closely monitoring the situation and exploring ways to contribute in the affected areas.
Our deepest sympathy goes to everyone affected. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, those still waiting for news of missing family members, and the brave rescuers working tirelessly to save lives.
