Pailo Paila

Pailo Paila Pailo Paila which means “First step” was initiated in 2015, aftermath of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the entire Himalayan nation of Nepal.

After the devastating natural catastrophe that left over 8,000 registered death, over 25,000 confirmed injured and thousands traumatised we initiated the first ever project “Donations for Nepal”. Pailo Paila is an NGO (Non Governmental organisation) and non for profit making organisation registered under the government of Nepal. We are a team of graduates and good Samaritans who have been working

in the rubble from day two by helping rescue the trapped, cleaning multiple sites and night watching the communities. Pailo Paila has been active since day two and has never slowed down on its rescue, relief and rehabilitation missions. From day 3 we started fundraising in one of the crowdfunding websites and have successfully helped around 5,500 victims of around 1,000 households in Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk and South Lalitpur by immediately supplying rice, lentils, grams, glucose, first aid and by setting up medical camps. Immediately after week and half long of food and first aid supply we shifted our attention to Shelter. With the imminent monsoon we had to come up with solutions for temporary shelter as the tarpaulins did not even hold the pre-monsoon rain and gust of wind. We came up with two prototypes; prototype one the houses build out of bamboo, mud, cement and cow dung and the prototype two is the house made out of iron poles, rods and corrugated sheets. We constructed 10 houses of the prototype 1 in Dukuchhap in Lalitpur, 40 houses in Danuwar basti in south Lalitpur of prototype 1, 15 houses of the 2nd prototype in Sankhu, 14 of the same prototype in Sinche-9 of Nuwakot and 10 houses of prototype 1 in Sitapaila. Along with building houses and sanitation which is still a priority it also came to our attention that school reconstruction is as important as well and have already initiated couple of projects. Pailo Paila is committed to reach as many communities as we can, fix as many houses as we can, help as many lives as we can, build as many schools as we can and help the victims not only get back to their normal life but find a sustainable work or product that can make every community independent. For our cause we look for your support and further!
