Its Aim is to promote a new kind of tourism in Nepal, which would help boost revenues for small villages. Having done the treks to Annapurna, Langtang and Cho Oyu, we know a good deal about how amazing those mountains are. However, we felt frustrated in all those popular treks by the fact that a lodge every 20 minutes somehow lacks charm. The first trek we want to promote is a perfect complement t
o the beauties of the Himalayas. The first stop is the beautiful village of Bhaltali, where you will share the life of a wonderful Nepali family for a few days. Sitting on the floor to eat Dhal Bhat or Gundruk Diro (Nepal's national dish), learning how to work the fiels, playing chess with evryone in the village, swimming or fishing in the nearby river, playing volleyball with the kids, there is more to do than in any resort on earth! Those experiences will probably prove the most rewarding of your trip...
The next stop is Namabouddha, a buddhist temple perched in a dream location facing the Himalayan range. You will live with the monks, share your meals with them and see the amazing pujas (religious ceremonies) they perform twice a day...The next spiritual experience happens in the village of Khaflétok, where the devotion of people is as big as their smiles. Pujas here can take as much as 5 hours, and the energy coming from the music often makes the Guru cry as he hugs the people around him! By staying in those amazing places, you will not only have one of the best human and spiritual experience of your life but you will also help bring revenues to those village and encourage Nepalis to stay there instead of fleeing to the cities for job. 20% of the revenues paid to your host family will be redistributed to a local cooperative in order to finance local projects.
