⚽️ HUGE NEWS FOR WOMEN IN FOOTBALL! ⚽️
FIFA just dropped a game-changer! As of March 19, 2026, the FIFA Council has officially approved mandatory new regulations to ensure women have a seat at the table—and on the bench—at the highest level of the game. 🚀
This is no longer just a "goal"; it’s now the RULE. 📜
What’s changing?
For every team competing in a FIFA women’s tournament:
✅ Coaching: At least ONE female Head Coach or Assistant Coach is now mandatory.
✅ Staffing: At least TWO female officials must be seated on the team bench.
✅ Medical: At least ONE member of the medical staff must be female.
When does it start?
The rollout begins NOW! 🏟️
• Sept 2026: Debut at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
• Late 2026: Applied at the U-17 Women’s World Cup and the new FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
• 2027: Full enforcement for the big one—the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil! 🇧🇷
Why it matters: At the last World Cup, only 12 of the 32 head coaches were women. FIFA Chief Football Officer Jill Ellis said it best: "There are simply not enough women in coaching today. We must accelerate change." Looking for an opportunity? 🎓
FIFA is backing this up with serious investment, including:
🌟 Elite Performance Mentorship programs.
🌟 Scholarships for UEFA Pro and A Licenses.
🌟 Dedicated pathways for Female Coach Educators.
It’s time to turn the "grass ceiling" into a sideline reality. Tag an aspiring female coach who needs to see this! 👇
