Child Nepal has successfully completed relief support to 300 families affected by the recent flash floods in Dhading and Nuwakot districts.

The relief assistance included essential items aimed at addressing the immediate needs and vulnerabilities of affected families, including food items, emergency lights, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, and medical kits.

This support was provided with the aim of helping families meet their immediate humanitarian needs, maintain basic health and hygiene, and cope with the difficult circumstances following the disaster.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all the partners, supporters, volunteers, local authorities, and community members whose solidarity and cooperation made this relief response possible.

Child Nepal successfully concluded its 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 6th General Convention today, marking another important milestone in our journey of serving children and strengthening our commitment to child rights and well-being.

The Convention brought together members, staff, and stakeholders to reflect on the organizationโ€™s achievements, challenges, and future priorities. The event also formally constituted a new Board Members .n leadership of Mr. Ratna Upreti, newly elected chairperson of Child Nepal, entrusted with providing strategic leadership and further strengthening Child Nepalโ€™s mission and institutional development.

As part of our commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance, the organization also conducted its Social Audit, providing an opportunity to review our work, share achievements and challenges, and receive valuable feedback from stakeholders and the wider community.

A special highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the โ€œBest Staff of the Yearโ€ Award to Mr. Riwaz Bikram Bhandari, in recognition of his dedication, commitment, and valuable contribution to Child Nepal. His achievement reflects the culture of professionalism, teamwork, and passion that continues to inspire our organization.

Together, we remain committed to building a stronger, more accountable, and child-centered organization and to creating a safer, more inclusive, and brighter future for every child.

Child Nepal is providing psychosocial first aid and emotional support to children affected by the recent floods at the holding center in Kalika Rural Municipality, Rasuwa District, Nepal. The initiative aims to help children cope with the emotional distress and uncertainty caused by the disaster, while creating a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment where they can express their feelings, reconnect with others, and regain a sense of comfort and security. Through compassionate interaction, active listening, recreational activities, and psychosocial support, Child Nepal is standing with flood-affected children and supporting their emotional well-being and recovery.

A meaningful inter-ministerial meeting was convened by the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security and chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Krishna Bahadur Raut. The meeting focused on the written replies of the List of Issues under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and ratification of OP3CRC. We participated and presented in the meeting as invited representatives of the CRC Reporting Coalition Nepal Secretariat at Child Nepal.
