Rotary Club of Gongabu Holds Regular Meeting Under President Binod Karki

Kathmandu, August 15, 2026: The Rotary Club of Gongabu held its regular meeting on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Sky Restro, Samakhushi, under the chairmanship of Club President Rtn. Binod Karki.

The meeting was attended by club members and focused on reviewing the club’s ongoing activities, progress of various committees, service projects and future plans.

During the meeting, the agenda included progress reports from committee chairs, updates on the Global Grant, review of completed and upcoming service projects, club audit and financial and administrative matters, as well as renewal documents and initiatives for strengthening the club.

Global Grant progress, issues and future action plans were presented by Kabita Manandhar, while Pawon Dhital presented a review of completed and upcoming service projects. C. K. Wagle presented the club’s audit, financial and administrative review, and Anuj Shrestha presented updates on renewal documents and strengthening the club.

President Binod Karki emphasized the importance of active participation, effective coordination and collective efforts among members to make the club’s service initiatives more impactful.

The meeting concluded with announcements, a vote of thanks and the formal adjournment by the President. The program also provided an opportunity for fellowship and discussion among Rotary members.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय युवा दिवसको अवसरमा सरसफाइ कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न

काठमाडौं, २७ साउन २०८३ — अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय युवा दिवसको अवसरमा रोटरी क्लब अफ गोंगबु र रोट्रयाक्ट क्लब अफ गोंगबु नर्थको संयुक्त आयोजनामा तारकेश्वर–६ स्थित महांकाल मन्दिर क्षेत्रमा सरसफाइ कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भएको छ।

बुधबार बिहान ७:३० बजेदेखि सञ्चालन गरिएको कार्यक्रममा ३५ जना रोटेरियन तथा रोट्रयाक्ट सदस्यहरूको सहभागिता रहेको थियो। सहभागीहरूले मन्दिर परिसर तथा आसपासका क्षेत्रमा सरसफाइ गर्दै फोहोर व्यवस्थापन र स्वच्छ वातावरण निर्माणसम्बन्धी जनचेतना फैलाएका थिए।

कार्यक्रमले सार्वजनिक स्थलको स्वच्छता कायम राख्नुका साथै युवाहरूलाई सामाजिक सेवामा सक्रिय रूपमा सहभागी गराउने उद्देश्य राखेको आयोजकले जनाएको छ।

रोटरीको “Create Lasting Impact” भन्ने मूल भावनाअनुसार आयोजित कार्यक्रममा सहभागीहरूले समुदायको विकास र वातावरण संरक्षणका लागि यस्ता सामाजिक अभियानलाई निरन्तरता दिनुपर्नेमा जोड दिएका थिए।

रोटरी क्लब अफ गोंगबु र रोट्रयाक्ट क्लब अफ गोंगबु नर्थले आगामी दिनमा पनि समुदाय केन्द्रित विभिन्न सामाजिक तथा वातावरणीय कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गर्ने जनाएको छ।

To contribute towards Rotary District 3292's goal of planting 100,000 trees during Rotary Year 2026–27, the Rotary Club of Gongabu, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Gongabu North, successfully organized a Tree Plantation and Hiking Program at Jhanda Park, Ward No. 2, Tarakeshwar Municipality, Kathmandu, on July 25, 2026.

The program was conducted under the leadership of Club President Rtn. Binod Karki with the active participation of Immediate Past President Rtn. Rajaram Phuyal, Past Presidents Rtn. Kabita Manandhar and Rtn. Maheshwor Man Singh Basnet and President-Nominee Anuj shrestha .The program was attended by distinguished Rotarians including Rtn. Hareram Lamechhane, Rtn. Laxmi Gurung, Rtn. Pawan Dhital, Rtn. Damodar Ghimire, Rtn. Ravi Dhital, Rtn. Dham P. Bhattarai, and Rtn. Kashi Ram Basyal, along with many other members and volunteers.
A total of 55 Rotarians and Rotaractors enthusiastically participated in the event, planting 350 saplings of various native and environmentally beneficial tree species around Jhanda Park. The initiative was organized to promote environmental conservation, biodiversity, and climate action while supporting Rotary's commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable future.

The event also featured a hiking program that strengthened fellowship among members and encouraged a healthy lifestyle while fostering a deeper appreciation for nature.

Speaking on the occasion, Club President Rtn. Binod Karki emphasized that tree plantation is one of the most meaningful investments for future generations, stating that every tree planted today contributes to cleaner air, a healthier environment, and a more sustainable Nepal.

IPP Rtn. Rajaram Phuyal highlighted the importance of collective action in environmental conservation, while Past President Rtn. Kabita Manandhar encouraged communities to take responsibility for protecting natural resources. Past President Rtn. Maheshwor Man Singh Basnet noted that planting trees is a simple yet powerful way to combat climate change and preserve biodiversity.

The Rotary Club of Gongabu expressed its sincere appreciation to all Rotarians, Rotaractors, local authorities, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the program. The club reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Rotary International's environmental initiatives and continuing impactful community service projects under the guiding principle of "Service Above Self."

The 11th Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Gongabu was successfully held on 10 July 2026 at Sky Retro & Banquet, Samakhusi Chowk, Gongabu.

The ceremony marked the formal installation of the new leadership for the Rotary Year 2026–2027, led by President Rtn. Binod Karki. The event was attended by distinguished guests, Rotarians, partners, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the club's achievements and welcome the new leadership team.

Under the leadership of President Rtn. Binod Karki, the Rotary Club of Gongabu is committed to strengthening fellowship, expanding impactful community service projects, empowering youth, promoting education and healthcare, and upholding the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self."

The installation ceremony reflected the club's dedication to continued growth, collaboration, and meaningful service to the community throughout the Rotary year 2026–2027.
