Sustainability Week team at City Campus Butwal has successfully conducted An Environmental Awareness Program in Shree Uzir Singh Secondary School.

The team of Sustainability Week City Campus Butwal has provided the insight about environmental laws in Nepal, growing threats and challenges to environment in national and international scale, and the burning issue of environmental pollution, along with the small steps we could take from our side to combat those challenges. This awareness program is concluded in the presence of around 100 students.

Sustainability Week Kathmandu representatives Miss Samikshya Basnet and Miss Abhishu Neupane participated in BaYu Sambad (Balbalika and Yuwa Sambad), an event ahead of the international Sagarmatha Sambad, together with over 100 children and young people from across Nepal in Kathmandu for a youth-led dialogue on climate action. The event was jointly organized by the Government of Nepal, UN Nepal, Sagarmatha Sambaad, Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), WFF, Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), and CEN.

A key outcome of the event was the adoption of an action-oriented document, Youth and Children’s Declaration, reflecting the aspirations, concerns, and demands of Nepal’s young generation in the face of the climate crisis.

On April 9th, our National Lead, Pratik Pandit, and HEI Lead, Latika Basyal, proudly represented Sustainability Week Kathmandu at the National Symposium on Climate and Environmental Action and Early Childhood Development (ECD). The past lead of SWK, Miss Dikshya Subedi, also participated in the event, representing Youth Action for Sustainable and Eco Nepal.

The event, jointly organized by UNICEF Nepal, ARNEC, and Vital Strategies in collaboration with the National Planning Commission (NPC), brought together around 100 participants, including government officials, policymakers, experts, youth, and children across Nepal.

An integrated Youth & Children Call for Action was prepared beforehand after a symposium on ECD & Climate Action to be presented to NPC. It was submitted to the representative from NPC during the event. 🌍👶🌱

💔 Our hearts go out to the victims of devastating wildfires currently ripping through Los Angeles County, California, USA.

🔥 Wildfires are increasing around the globe in frequency, severity and duration.

⚠️ The risk of wildfires grows in extremely dry conditions, such as drought, heat waves and during high winds.

☢️ Wildfire smoke is a mixture of hazardous air pollutants, such PM2.5, NO2, ozone, aromatic hydrocarbons, or lead. In addition to contaminating the air with toxic pollutants, wildfires also simultaneously impact the climate by releasing large quantities of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

🌡️ With climate change leading to warmer temperatures and drier conditions, wildfire events are getting more extreme.

Join Us for the Post-COP 29 Sharing Event 🌍

Building on the success of our Pre-COP 29 Event, we are excited to announce the Post-COP 29 Sharing Event, organized by, a consortium of youth network, Clean Energy Nepal, Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), Sustainability Week Kathmandu (SWK), World Food Forum Nepal, World’s Youth for Climate Justice (WYCJ) Nepal, and Youth Action for Sustainable and Eco Nepal (YASEN), in collaboration with FAO Nepal and UNICEF Nepal.

This event will serve as a platform to:

Reflect on the outcomes of COP 29 and Nepal’s position.
Facilitate dialogue between youth, government officials, and other stakeholders.
Gather insights to strengthen Nepal’s national climate action strategy.
