On this International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, let’s not forget the work still left to do to ensure justice for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.

Our hearts are full after an incredible two days with the Kala ra Kanoon Artivism Camp.

For this edition of Kala ra Kanoon we invited students from Grades 8–10 from 10 different schools in the Kathmandu Valley on 15th May 2026, to explore their rights and express their visions for the future through art.

Day 1 kicked off with a learning and discussion session by Adv.Sushmita Ghimire and Aakansha Budha on how young students can participate meaningfully in civics and politics in Nepal. This session led into creative studio time where students tackled three prompts: “Public Service Posters” “The Nepal I want to live in”, and “A seat at the table” and let their imaginations run wild.

On Day 2, we celebrated their hard work with an exhibition at Classic Gallery, made even more special by a visit and meaningful dialogue with new friends from Mikha Nepal.

Thank you to everyone, students, schools, facilitators, and partners who lent their delicate hands and big hearts to make this reflective session a success.

Discrimination has no place in our lives. All people within the q***r spectrum have the right to live their lives with joy and dignity. We must create a world free of hate, discrimination and prejudice especially for people on the LGBTQIAP+ spectrum. It is our responsibility as human beings to uplift each-other with hope and joy.
