We didn't just plant trees. We planted purpose.
Youth for Good Nepal visited Shree Bitesh Basic School and brought something the Chepang community holds close to their heart, the Chiuri Tree. Because when you plant what already means something to people, it grows differently.
But we didn't stop at digging holes and walking away. We handed young Chepang hands their own saplings to plant in their own surroundings so as they grow, the trees grow with them. That's not afforestation. That's belonging.
And because we believe growth needs more than roots, we showed up with Project Gyan, delivering sports materials too. Education. Nature. Play. All in one day.
This is what impact looks like when it's built with community, not just for it.

हामी रूख रोप्न गएका थिएनौं, हामी केही छोड्न गएका थियौं।
Youth for Good, श्री बिटेश आधारभूत विद्यालयमा पुग्यो, साथमा लिएर चिउरीको बिरुवा। चेपाङ समुदायका लागि चिउरी सिर्फ रूख होइन, यो उनीहरूको जीवन हो, पहिचान हो, पुस्तौंदेखि चलिआएको साथी हो।
केही बिरुवाहरू विद्यालय परिसरमै रोपियो। अनि केही, केही बिरुवाहरू चेपाङ युवाहरूको हातमा थमाइयो, आफ्नै वरिपरि आफ्नै हातले रोप्नका लागि। किनभने जब रूख आफ्नै हातले हुर्काइन्छ, त्यसप्रतिको माया र जिम्मेवारी दुवै जन्मन्छ।
अनि यत्तिमै रोकिएनौं। Project Gyan अन्तर्गत खेलकुद सामग्री पनि पुर्याइयो, किनभने बच्चाको विकास किताबमा मात्र हुँदैन, मैदानमा पनि हुन्छ।
शिक्षा, प्रकृति र खेल, एउटै दिनमा।
