The third cohort of the Anthony Lunch Memorial (AJL) Scholarship, in partnership with Mondo Foundation, was awarded today for postgraduate studies in Nepal to Sushma Tamang of Bidur, Nuwakot, and Rinchen Tamang of Biratnagar, Morang.

Rinchen Tamang will pursue Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship through Nepal Communiversity and Kathmandu University. Sushma Tamang will study Educational Leadership and Management at the Kathmandu University School of Education. Both recipients were selected for their strong commitment to community transformation and their outstanding candidacy, with priority given to applicants from marginalised and underserved communities.

Speaking at the event, educationists Prof. Dr Bidya Nath Koirala and Prof. Dr Bal Chandra Luitel emphasised how higher education scholarships empower young Nepalis to lead and serve their communities.

HELP now offers three distinct scholarship programmes supporting students at different stages of their education. These include the Post SEE Scholarship for students entering Grades 11 and 12, scholarships for undergraduate studies, and scholarships for postgraduate studies.

Thank you to all our guests for joining us and making this event so memorable, and a special thanks to King's College for graciously hosting.

The 2083 Post-SEE Scholarship Programme-HELP Interview has officially begun!

This year, applications were received from students across all 7 provinces, 23 districts, and more than 40 municipalities. After a rigorous screening process, 126 students have been shortlisted for the interview stage. Notably, 59.73% of the candidates come from HELP’s home region of Helambu and Panchpokhari Thangpal.

The interview is the most critical stage of the selection process and will play a key role in determining the final scholarship recipients.

To all shortlisted students: stay prepared, give it your best, and trust your journey.

We look forward to sharing further updates from the scholarship journey.

In the aftermath of the recent Tibet-Nepal flash floods, our hearts are with every family whose life was upended in an instant. Yesterday, Team HELP visited local wards and holding centres to stand in solidarity with affected families, witness the ground reality, and listen to the immediate needs of those displaced. Having supported nearly 1200 students across dozens of schools in these same regions (Rasuwa and Nuwakot) years ago, we feel a profound responsibility to walk alongside them through this hardship.

While the immediate priority remains urgent search, rescue, and emergency relief, we are subtly evaluating how we can provide sustainable, long-term support to help communities rebuild and heal. We stand fully with the government's relief efforts and encourage everyone, anywhere in the world, to contribute through this official link: Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund Portal - https://pmdrf.nchl.com.np/

HELP is actively developing practical initiatives to support affected communities. We will share details in our upcoming posts on how you can join us in making a meaningful impact.

Stay tuned as we bring more updates.

May the departed souls rest in peaceful solace and may affected families find strength and hope.
