🏗️ *Construction Update: Monks’ Dormitory (Lama Simjung), Namche. *Project started in 2023*
Sanga Thekchok Dechen Ling Monastery in Namche is 117 years old as of 2026, a sacred place of deep historical and spiritual significance, dedicated to preserving and promoting the teachings of Lord Buddha.
To support the monastery’s continued growth, the Everest Sherpa Foundation (ESF) has formed a construction committee to oversee the building of a new monks’ dormitory (Lama Simjung). This project will provide better living and learning conditions for resident monks, strengthening the future of Buddhist education in the region.
The project is being implemented by ESF with the generous financial support of Dr. Matthias Baumann from Sherpa NepalHilfe, Germany.
