Creating greener schools is an investment in children's future. Through the support of Jack Work, Lesley Forde, and PSD Nepal, 270 fruit-bearing saplings were planted within the premises of Shree Manedanda Secondary School and 400 saplings within community. The plantation included avocado, Japanese pear, lemon, kalki, persimmon, and flowering plants, creating a healthier and more attractive learning environment for students.
These fruit trees will provide shade, improve biodiversity, and serve as practical learning resources for environmental education and agriculture. In the years ahead, they will also supply nutritious fruits for students while contributing to climate resilience and environmental conservation. Every tree planted today represents a long-term investment in education, health, and sustainability.

PSD Nepal has established a School Garden and Kitchen Garden at Shree Manedanda Secondary School in Dolakha to transform learning beyond the classroom. Developed with the active participation of students and teachers, the garden provides a hands-on learning space where children gain practical knowledge about vegetable cultivation, environmental conservation, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture while caring for seasonal crops inside a plastic tunnel.
The school garden is more than a source of fresh vegetables—it is an outdoor classroom that nurtures responsibility, teamwork, and climate awareness. The vegetables produced will be used in the school's meal programme, improving students' nutrition while demonstrating how schools can integrate experiential learning with environmental sustainability. PSD Nepal is proud to support greener schools and healthier futures for children.

Today, we celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with a vibrant, action-packed program aimed at empowering the next generation of eco-warriors! Our students dived deep into crucial environmental issues, learning about effective waste management, plastic pollution, the dangers of open burning, and the realities of climate change.
It wasn’t just about talking—it was about doing! The day was filled with hands-on learning, including an interactive session on sorting biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, a school-wide clean-up campaign, and an incredibly creative Waste-to-Art competition. We wrapped up the day by making a collective commitment to protect our planet and maintain a clean, healthy environment every single day.

A group of 13 enthusiastic volunteers from Bond University, Australia, recently traveled to Harmi, Gorkha, for a two-week community service program, making a meaningful impact in the local community. During their stay, they generously donated essential medicines and medical equipment to the Hami Health Post, supporting better healthcare access for villagers. They also provided educational and sports materials to Bigyan Basic School and Mahendra Lila Secondary School, helping to enrich the learning environment for students. In addition, the volunteers contributed to furnishing the Early Childhood Development (ECD) classroom, building fencing, and undertaking other community development initiatives, leaving behind lasting improvements that will benefit the children and families of Harmi for years to come.

We joined forces with the people of Jugu, Dolakha to plant 2000 trees in one day!

This remarkable effort by all involved will go towards providing a sustainable income for the local community. By planting these high-value crops we hope to help stem the rural-urban migration which is a pressing challenge to rural areas such as Jugu.

The second day at RU Fest 2025 has concluded bringing to a close this fantastic event.

Many more valuable connections were made throughout the day and the panel discussions brought to life the crucial issues with profound insight and first-hand experience.

RU Fest has been particularly inspiring due to its solutions-orientated focus on the topic of tackling plastic waste and forging a green circular economy.

All of us at PSD would like to extend our thanks to the speakers, entrepreneurs, guests, and especially to all the children and young people who made the weekend so valuable and vibrant. Let's carry this momentum forward for a cleaner, greener, and more innovative Nepal!
