🌸✨ Navaratri Day 1 – Ghatasthapana ✨🌸

Navaratri begins with the worship of Maa Shailaputri, the first form of Maa Durga.

Who is Shailaputri?
She is the daughter of the Himalayas (Shaila = mountain, Putri = daughter). In her previous birth as Sati, she sacrificed herself at her father Daksha’s Yagya. She was reborn as Parvati, daughter of the great Himalayas, and later married Lord Shiva.

She rides a bull (Nandi), carries a trident and a lotus, and symbolizes purity, courage, and determination.

On this day, devotees perform Ghatasthapana, invoking divine energy to bless their homes with strength, peace, and prosperity. Pilgrims plant Jamara (barley seeds) in a sacred Kalash with soil and sand.

These tender green shoots are nurtured for 9 days as a symbol of prosperity, blessings, and victory of good over evil.

On Vijaya Dashami, Jamara is offered along with tika as a blessing for health, happiness, and long life. 🙏

🕯️Candle Light Program in Memory of Lives Lost During Gen Z Protest 🕯️

Leo Club of Kathmandu Aagaman together with Leo Club of Kathmandu Sagarmatha Central, Leo Club of Kathmandu Bishalnagar, Leo Club of Kathmandu Emerald, Leo Club of Kathmandu United Stock, Leo Club of Kathmandu Fulbari, Leo Club of Kathmandu Prayasnagar and Leo Club of Kathmandu Resunga organized a solemn Candle Light Program to honor and remember the precious lives lost during the Gen Z protest.

Also, an open mic forum was initiated for those willing to share their pain, thoughts and condolences via speech and poem.

With prayers, silence, and light, we paid tribute to the departed souls and expressed solidarity with their families and all those striving for justice and change. ✨

May their sacrifices never be forgotten, and may their courage continue to inspire generations to come. 🌹

✨ Successfully Celebrated 6th Charter Day & Hunger Relief Program ✨

Lions Club of Kathmandu Aagaman, joyfully celebrated 6th Charter Day on 22nd August 2025 (2082/05/06) at Navajeevan Paropakar Samaj (Briddha Ashram), Futung.

The day was marked with a heartfelt Hunger Relief Program in collaboration with Leo Club of Kathmandu Aagaman, spreading love, care, and happiness among the elderly. 💐

This special celebration was made even more memorable on the occasion of Ishan Tiwari’s birthday. 🎂🎉.

A big thank you to every member, well-wisher, and supporter who made this day remarkable. Together, we celebrated service, compassion, and the true spirit of Lionism & Leos. 🌸💫

Thanks to everyone present for making it more worthwhile. Your presence and excitement in the program was really what we appreciated.
Thanks to Rotaract Tripureswor for collaborating on this programme. Together is better than alone.
