RELIEF MISSION CONTRIBUTION & DISTRIBUTION UPDATE

On behalf of the entire relief team, led by Chairperson and Founder of Mission Smile Nepal and Gen-Z leader Jasmine Ojha, alongside board members Kavita Siwakoti, Rameshwori Tripathi Pandey, Maiya Kumari Acharya, and advisor Dr. Tirtharaj Luitel, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every contributor who has stood with us to pray for the Nepal Flood Relief Mission. Thank you to all those who stepped forward to donate essential materials and help us reach the affected and underserved areas. Your generosity has made it possible for relief supplies to reach beyond easily accessible regions, bringing urgent care, protection, dignity, and hope directly to vulnerable families facing critical needs.

Our mission was intentionally focused on reaching isolated communities that have received little or no primary assistance. The mobilized relief supplies included key hygiene and sanitation essentials such as a master carton of sanitary pads, a carton of hand sanitizer, bulk disinfection lime, 330 diapers, 72 panties, 300 toothbrushes and toothpaste, 12 brooms, 36 Harpic bottles, 10 toilet paper rolls, soaps, and shampoos. Additionally, our team mobilized clothing and relief goods, including 2 sets of trousers and t-shirts, 250 jhul (bags), 148 trousers, 148 t-shirts, 20 jackets for children, and other supportive materials.

These supplies were directly distributed across two holding centers and Uttargaya Gaupalika Ward Number 5, prioritizing families and areas that remain difficult to reach and underserved by existing relief efforts.

We express our sincere gratitude to our supporting organization, Shanti Sewa Griha, as well as Nepali Congress leaders Purna Bahadur Khadka and Ram Hari Khatiwada for their valuable coordination. Special thanks to Bobby Kumar, Krishna Acharya, Marrero Mexican, and all dedicated volunteers, suppliers, and coordinators. Your timely support is far more than relief supplies it represents a lifeline, a message of solidarity, and a beam of hope for affected families. Mission Smile Nepal has organized a candle lighting ceremony and lit one hundred thousand wicks at the Pashupatinath premises in Kathmandu to mark its ninth anniversary and pay tribute to the deceased. The organization conducted the memorial in honor of citizens who lost their lives in recent floods and landslides, youths who died during the Gen-Z movement, and all martyrs.

9 Years of Mission Smile Nepal. ❤️

Today, as Mission Smile Nepal marks its ninth anniversary, we celebrate not only a journey of service but also remember the lives and voices that remind us why this work matters. On this special occasion, we lit diyas and Lakshabatti at the sacred premises of Pashupatinath, remembering all those who lost their lives in the recent floods and landslides, the Gen-Zs who lost their lives during the Gen-Z movement, and all the martyrs and departed souls.

Every light we lit carried a memory. Every flame carried a prayer. And every prayer carried a hope for a more just, peaceful and compassionate society. Nine years ago, Mission Smile Nepal began with a simple belief: everyone deserves dignity, equality, justice and the right to be heard. Nine years later, that belief remains our strength and our responsibility. We remember those we have lost. We stand with those who are still struggling. And we continue our mission with greater courage, compassion and hope.

9 years of hope. 9 years of solidarity. 9 years of hope. 9 years of standing with people. The mission continues. ❤️🕯️ May the departed souls rest in peace. May their memories continue to guide us towards a better society.

Rasuwa Flood Emergency Update | 4 September 2026, 19:00 NPT: 1,287 confirmed dead, 5,083 missing, and 13,093 rescued or evacuated. Search operations continue across major hydropower sites, while Nepal and international forensic teams work on victim identification and dignified management of the deceased. The crisis demands urgent rescue efforts, international cooperation, and answers for every affected family.

Rasuwa is facing a humanitarian emergency. 1,252 confirmed dead. 4,216 still missing. Nepal must do everything possible to rescue the living, identify the dead, and give families answers. The government must remain fully open to international cooperation, forensic expertise, technology and specialized rescue support. This is about humanity, dignity and the right of every family to know the truth.

Rasuwa Flood Situation | 2 September 2026

The disaster response continues across Rasuwa, with 1,114 confirmed fatalities, 3,916 people missing, and 11,993 people rescued. Multinational forensic and tunnel-rescue teams are supporting ongoing search, identification, and recovery operations at major hydropower sites. Severe damage has affected 12 hydropower projects and 48 bridges, while telecommunications services have largely been restored. Relief operations, road and bridge clearance, border coordination, and emergency assistance are continuing, with international support being mobilised for advanced rescue and forensic equipment.

Nepal Disaster Update | 1 September 2026: Rescue, recovery, and identification efforts continue across the affected areas, with authorities reporting 1,003 fatalities, 3,916 people missing, and 11,884 people rescued, while 3,453 people remain in holding centres. A total of 330 foreign nationals and tourists have been rescued, although several major highways remain fully closed due to the risk of floods and landslides. Nepal Police has uploaded 869 unidentified profiles to its official portal, while 972 inquest/post-mortem reports have been generated, 58 bodies have been handed over to families, and 684 unidentified bodies have been buried following standard procedures. Search and rescue operations are also continuing at several hydropower sites, with specialised tunnel rescue teams from India, China, and the Republic of Korea supporting Nepali authorities. International forensic and DNA identification teams are assisting with victim identification, while additional support, including LiDAR, drones, DNA testing kits, freezers, and other emergency equipment, is being coordinated. For families of missing persons residing abroad, DNA profiles can be prepared in their country of residence and submitted to Nepal Police for identification efforts. Rescue continues, recovery continues, and every effort is being made to identify and reunite families with their loved ones.

These supplies are being directed toward communities where the need remains urgent, with priority given to families and areas that are difficult to reach and underserved by existing relief efforts. As part of this effort, our team handed over relief materials to Kalika Gaupalika Chairperson Hari Krishna Devkota, in presence of Ward Chairperson Umesh Neupane and the concerned authorities for distribution among affected communities. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Parliamentarian Mohan Acharya for his valuable coordination and support in facilitating this relief effort.
