A Sweet Moment of Joy at Sama Kindergarten!

Last Monday was a very special and heartwarming day at our Sama Kindergarten. One of our little students, Pema Dhundup, celebrated his birthday with his classmates and teachers by sharing cake, candies, and most importantly, lots of smiles and laughter.

The classroom was filled with excitement as the children gathered together to celebrate their friend. Moments like these remind us that the greatest joy often comes from sharing with others.

In Buddhist Philosophy, generosity and sharing are beautiful qualities that help nurture kindness, compassion, and connection. At Tergar Charity’s kindergartens, we gently encourage these values in our children so they grow not only in knowledge, but also in kindness and care for one another.

A Joyful Start to the New School Year!

The new school year has finally begun, and our kindergartens have once again opened their doors to welcome the little ones back. Although we couldn’t start exactly when we had planned due to the recent election period, the classrooms are now filled with laughter, excitement, and tiny footsteps.

It has been heartwarming to see the children return, smiling as they reunite with their friends, eager to play, learn, and explore together. Their joyful energy has brought life back into our classrooms and playgrounds.

At Tergar Charity, our kindergartens are more than just places of learning. They are spaces where children can grow with confidence, curiosity, and kindness, surrounded by care, warmth, and opportunity.

Seeing these young minds blossom reminds us why this work matters so much. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to support and believe in the importance of early childhood education.

Here’s to a beautiful year ahead filled with learning, laughter, and growth.

Parents’ Seminar at Kindergartens

At Tergar Charity Nepal, we believe that a child’s learning journey is strongest when school and family walk together. As part of our Kindergarten project, we recently organized a Parents’ Seminar; a meaningful day of learning, sharing, and partnership.

The seminar gave parents a close look into how and why we teach the way we do. Through classroom observations, presentations, and open discussions, parents experienced our play-based, child-centered approach, where learning happens through exploration, creativity, care, and joy.

What we shared with parents:
- Our kindergarten curriculum; Montessori-inspired learning methods complimented by basic Buddhist practices.
- How children learn literacy, numeracy, colors, shapes, sounds, and life skills
- The importance of discipline rooted in kindness and understanding
- Healthy habits, and personal hygiene
- Each child’s academic progress, strengths, and areas for growth
- Ways parents can support learning at home

Why this seminar matters:
Education is not only about books and classrooms, it is about holistic development: academic, emotional, social, and moral. When parents understand our purpose, values, and methods, they become our strongest partners in nurturing confident, compassionate, and capable children.

The seminar also created a safe platform for:
- Parent feedback, suggestions, and concerns
- Open dialogue between teachers, parents, and school management
- Building trust, transparency, and shared responsibility

We warmly invited all parents to be part of our team. Their involvement, encouragement, and collaboration help us create a learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to grow.

Together, as teachers and parents, we are not just educating children, we are shaping their future with care, purpose, and love.

Empowering the Himalayas, One Step at a Time! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Tergar Charity Nepal is delighted to celebrate and support the upcoming Nubri Trail Race ’25, beautifully organized by H.E.L.P. (HimaHimalayan Environment and Life Protection-HelpThis inspiring event, now scheduled for 10th November 2025, will bring together runners, youth, and community members from across the Nubri for a day of endurance, unity, and empowerment.

Beyond the breathtaking trails and the spirit of adventure, events like the Nubri Trail Race hold deep significance for the people of Nubri valley. They encourage young people to dream big, build confidence, and stay rooted in their culture while embracing global values of resilience and teamwork.

Such initiatives not only promote health and sports but also ignite hope, strengthen community bonds, and open doors of opportunity in some of Nepal’s most remote and beautiful regions.

Let’s cheer for all the participants as they run with purpose and passion; proving that “every step truly empowers!”

Celebrating Raksha Bandhan at Our Kindergartens!

Last week, our kindergartens were filled with joy, laughter, and a spirit of love as we celebrated Raksha Bandhan; a beautiful festival primarily celebrated by Hindus, honoring the bond between brothers and sisters. Traditionally, this day is marked by sisters tying a rakhi (a talisman or amulet) around their brothers’ wrists, symbolizing love, care, and a promise of protection.

At our kindergartens, we believe festivals like Raksha Bandhan are not just about cultural traditions but also wonderful opportunities for children to learn about kindness, responsibility, empathy, and the joy of giving. Through such celebrations, our little ones understand that bonds of care and respect go beyond family ties and can be shared with friends and the wider community.

Our students poured their hearts into making their own colorful rakhis during arts and crafts, tying them around their brothers’ wrists with bright smiles. The day was rounded off with games, laughter, and plenty of shared happiness.

In moments like these, we see our classrooms transform into small circles of compassion where love, creativity, and togetherness are the lessons of the day.

Community Support in Action!

We’re deeply grateful to Community Action Nepal for their recent visit and continued support of our mission.

Thanks to their dedicated team, our Sama Kindergarten students received essential general and dental health check-ups, helping to ensure our little ones stay happy and healthy. Under the thoughtful request of our Principal, their program in charge; Ms. Eliza Shahi also provided basic first aid training to the teachers at Philim Kindergarten — equipping them with life-saving skills that will benefit the whole school community.

This is just one example of their long-standing commitment to delivering life-changing health, education, and livelihood programs in the remote mountain communities of Nepal.

We are also proud to share that Community Action Nepal is one of our key donors supporting the construction of a kindergarten in Prok village, nestled in the heart of the lower Nubri Valley.
