On 17 August 2026, Kayapalat organized the Youth Listening Lab – “Manthan” in Kathmandu, together with the Youth Listening Lab Cohort (युवाका कुरा समूह) alongside young people from diverse communities, identities, and backgrounds.
In the collaboration with UNDP Nepal, the session created a space to listen, reflect, question, and collectively explore the issues identified and raised through the Bhalakusari of Kathmandu. When young people with different experiences and perspectives come together, Manthan becomes more than a conversation, it becomes a space for ideas, critical reflection, and possibilities for meaningful social, political, and economic transformation.
Many young people, especially those who are directly or indirectly left behind from civic participation and decision-making are asking for something fundamental: to be heard, to be listened to, and to have their concerns taken seriously.
Youth voices must not remain only in consultation rooms. They must count in governance, influence decisions, and contribute to solutions. This begins at the local level, where young people should have meaningful opportunities to participate, raise concerns, shape priorities, and hold institutions accountable.
Because an inclusive and civic-aware society is not built for young people without them, it is built with their voices, ideas, participation, and leadership.
