Human Rights Forum Nepal, Ilam (HURF) is a non-governmental and non-profit Human Rights Organization which was established in 1998 as the first Human Rights Organization in Ilam District. It is one of the leading human rights organizations in the Eastern Region of Nepal. In 1998 HURF was registered at DAO in Ilam and in 2006 at the Social Welfare Council in Kathmandu. re the protection and promotion of Human Rights and the development of a non-violent and non-discriminating culture. Peace and non-violent conflict resolution, social inclusion, gender equity and the ending of all kind of discrimination are our main focus areas. To reach our objectives, we conduct awareness programs about Human Rights, child rights and women rights, enhance the capacity of human rights defenders who are working at grassroots level, support the peace building process through among other things community mediation and we conduct trainings on the new constitution, democracy and federalism. Our target groups are mainly marginalized people like women, children, Dalit, indigenous groups and minorities.
