34 Years of Impact and Commitment!

Today, as we celebrate the 34th Anniversary of the Human Welfare and Environment Protection Center (HWEPC), Dang, we proudly hosted an Interaction Program on “Our Role in Reducing Plastic Pollution.”

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Government of Nepal, our dedicated local governments, and our valued national and international development partners for walking this journey with us. Your continuous support, collaboration, and belief in our mission have empowered us to protect biodiversity, champion environmental justice, and uplift marginalized communities.
Together, let’s continue building a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive future.

Under the USAID Biodiversity Program, HWEPC successfully implemented the SADBHAV Rapti Project in Dang, contributing significantly to biodiversity conservation and community empowerment.

The Project Closeout and Sensitization Workshop brought together over 60 key stakeholders, where our Executive Director and Project Team Leader Mr. Pradeep Majgaiyan shared the remarkable achievements of the program. A major highlight was the recognition and awarding of six conservation champions for their outstanding contributions to biodiversity protection and sustainable practices.

The event received immense appreciation and recognition from stakeholders, reaffirming the value of collaborative efforts in fostering sustainable futures.

A thank you to USAID Nepal and USAID Biodiversity team and all our supportive stakeholders for making this initiative a success! Together, we are building resilient communities and protecting biodiversity.

Under the  USAID Biodiversity program. HWEPC has installed 15 informative hoarding boards across various locations in the Terai Arc Landscape. These boards provide crucial information on biodiversity conservation, human-wildlife conflict resolution, and sustainable aquatic biodiversity conservation to address local challenges. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with local communities and conservation groups, with active participation from the Aquatic Biodiversity Conservation Group. Together, we are fostering awareness and action for biodiversity conservation.

As part of the BELIFE Program, HWEPC organized the ReAL Plan Training in Rajpur RM to address learning gaps caused by COVID-19. The project provided Training of Trainers (ToT) to education department staff and teachers, who are now conducting sessions for all educators. This initiative aims to build a resilient education system to recover learning loss and meet students’ needs effectively.

मिचाहा प्रजाति भेटिनु भनेको त्यो जलाधार क्षेत्रमा घतराको घण्टी बज्नु जस्तै हो । नदी र पानीको स्वस्थता, त्यहाँको जलीय जैविक विविधताको अस्तित्व जोगाइ राख्न जरुरी रहन्छ’– ‘जलाधार क्षेत्र कुनै एउटा समुदाय, कुनै एउटा व्यक्ति सँग मात्रै सम्बन्धित रहँदैन । यो सिंगो नदीप्रणालीसँग जोडिएको विषय हो ।’ मानव कल्याण तथा वातावरण संरक्षण केन्द्रले १६ जना नागरिक वैज्ञानिकको सहभागितामा जलचर तथा मिचाहा प्रजातिको सर्वेक्षण गरिरहेको हो ।
