Our Story

Introduction:

Saksyam is dedicated to promoting the protection of Helpless & Poor children and enhancing health and education primarily in Central Himalayan Region (Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk), and the most underprivileged in Nepal, to promote immediate and lasting change in their lives and initially the mission of providing nurturing care, education, primary health care and mentorship to orphaned and abandoned children.

It is a local NGO set up in 2016 with a goal to improve quality of health and education in some of the remote villages in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindupalchowk (Central Himalayan Region) District of Nepal. Our programmes have supported around 27 rural villages, benefitting over 16,000 people including 7000 Children in many of the villages in the central HImalayan region and the adjacent regions. We work closely with communities and health - education authorities for sustainable results and villager empowerment. It was founded by the youths of the Central Himalayan Region (Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk and Nuwakot District of Nepal) a philanthropic Nepalese local group, who were affected by the Devastating earthquake of Nepal in 2015 and witnessed the plight of abandoned many children who were lost their parents in the incidence. Moved to action, we began to sponsor many orphaned. we love and concern for the children grew, and we soon began supporting a number of orphaned and abandoned students from the overcrowded orphanage who identified themselves as ‘motivated to learn’. Since then, Sakshyam Society Nepal (SS Nepal) has been offering Education Program, (Providing poor students a nurturing home environment, enrollment in top-quality schools, and important life-skills training, leadership programs, exit-planning, and access to psychological counseling) enhancing primary health care, Empowering the woman – Dalits (so called untouchable tribes) and under-marginalized tribes, promoting livelihood, Conserving the natural and cultural values and developing tourism in these rural villages.
