Sharing Warmth 🤍 | A journey beyond donation

From collecting winter clothes throughout November to careful washing, folding, and packaging—this was more than just distribution, it was a shared effort driven by empathy.

On December 18, volunteers from Kathmandu University Youth Red Cross Circle, Leo Club of Kathmandu University, and Leo Club of KUSMS reached Shree Kumari Madhyamik Bidhyalaya, Khanikhola–4, where nearly 500 students, community members, and 14 parentally deprived children benefited from winter clothing support.

The formal program, interaction with the children, and visit to the orphanage reminded us that warmth is not only about clothes—but about presence, care, and commitment. The smiles, resilience, and academic excellence of the children left us inspired and reflective: we did something meaningful, yet we can always do more.

This initiative would not have been possible without the institutional support of the Student Welfare Directorate, Kathmandu University, and the constant guidance of Krishna Sundar Thapa Sir.
Special gratitude to Mother’s Arm Pre-School for generously donating children’s clothes and supporting this cause.

This is just the beginning. As far as our abilities allow, we look forward to returning—with more support, in the future.

Together, step by step, we share warmth. 🤍

IN COLLABORATION WITH LEO CLUB OF KU, LEO CLUB OF KUSMS AND SWD.

On 7th December 2025, our team from the Kathmandu University Youth Red Cross Circle (KUYRCC) visited Kabhre Secondary School as part of the global campaign of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

We conducted two interactive sessions for students of Grade 7 to 10, with the active participation of 300+ students—almost equal representation from both boys and girls.

Throughout the session, we discussed important topics such as:
• understanding our body and bodily rights
• good touch and bad touch
• consent and why it matters
• grooming and online/offline safety
• forms of gender-based violence and how it impacts people differently based on gender

The session was led by our Secretary, Raghya Itani, along with active support from our KUYRCC team members. Every student from Grade 7–10 attended the program, making it an engaging and meaningful learning experience.

Creating awareness at a young age is one of the strongest steps toward building a safer and more respectful society — and we’re grateful to Kabhre Secondary School for welcoming us.

"You’re not alone. Speak out, reach out, and let’s build a safer world together."

Did you know?
1 in 3 women worldwide face gender-based violence.
It can be physical, emotional, or digital.
Speaking up saves lives. 🗣️
