The Rotary Club of Dhulikhel has proudly handed over a drinking water system to Shree Shiksha Sadan School, Banepa, bringing a lasting solution to support more than 500 students. After an initial deep boring attempt was unsuccessful, a 33-feet-deep well was successfully developed, and today it is supplying more than 3,000 liters of water every day for drinking, sanitation, and toilet use.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Rotary Club of Frome Selwood, District 1200, and The Flying Fish Swim School, UK, for their generous support and partnership in making this project possible. The project was officially handed over in the presence of local government representatives and school administration by President Dr. Anish Joshi, accompanied by Past President Ranjeev Shrestha and Web Master Gaurav Shrestha.

Special appreciation goes to Past President Ranjeev Shrestha and Rtn. Guy Parkinson for their vision and initiative in bringing this meaningful project to life. This is a powerful example of how Rotary service creates real impact, restoring dignity, health, and hope for the next generation.

๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿค Strengthening Agriculture, Empowering Communities ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒฑ

The Rotary Club of Dhulikhel and the District Agriculture Office, Kavre, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement a transformative agricultural initiative under Global Grant GG2572809.

Through this partnership, 150 Bamboo Green House Tunnels will be constructed, benefiting 75 families and improving the livelihoods of approximately 390 community members. The project will provide farmers with access to modern greenhouse technology, capacity-building training, technical guidance, and continuous monitoring and evaluation.

Under the agreement:
โœ… Rotary Club of Dhulikhel will support the construction of 150 Bamboo Green House Tunnels, training programs, and project monitoring and evaluation.
โœ… District Agriculture Office, Kavre will provide technical expertise, beneficiary identification to prevent duplication, and joint monitoring and evaluation.

This initiative is supported by Rotary Club of Aix-en-Provence Connection (France), Rotary District 1760, and Rotary Club of Dhulikhel.

Why is this important?
๐ŸŒฟ Promotes sustainable agriculture
๐ŸŒฟ Increases year-round vegetable production
๐ŸŒฟ Enhances household income and food security
๐ŸŒฟ Builds farmersโ€™ technical capacity
๐ŸŒฟ Creates long-term economic opportunities for rural families

Together, we are cultivating resilience, prosperity, and sustainable development for farming communities in Kavre.

The Water and Sanitation training for the 70 beneficiary households of the Dhakalthok Drinking Water Project (GG2570330) is important because safe water alone is not enough; it must also be used, protected, and managed properly. This training helps families understand good hygiene practices, prevent waterborne diseases, keep the drinking water system clean, and ensure the project remains sustainable for years to come. When households are informed and responsible, the full benefit of the project reaches every family and the whole community becomes healthier and stronger.

This achievement is also a true example of global partnership and shared commitment. With the support of Rotary Club of Dhulikhel, Rotary Club of Springfield (USA), Rotary International District 6460, and WASH Rotary Action Group, this project shows what can be accomplished when people come together for a common purpose. Special thanks to Samaj Sewa Samuha for helping to facilitate the training and making this community effort a success.

Heartfelt gratitude to Rotarian Peter Elias and the Rotary Club of Albury NSW, Australia, for their generous donation of hospital furniture and medical supplies in response to the request from the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel.

Your continued support to Nepalese public service institutions truly reflects the spirit of Rotary โ€” โ€œUniting for Goodโ€ and serving communities beyond race, color, caste, religion, and geographical boundaries.

The Rotary Club of Dhulikhel would also like to extend special appreciation to PP Rtn Ashok Shrestha for his tireless dedication, coordination, and relentless efforts in making this meaningful initiative a grand success. His commitment and leadership played a vital role in strengthening this international partnership in service.

We also sincerely cherish the warm hospitality extended during the visit to the Rotary Club of Alburyโ€™s regular meeting in February 2026. It was a wonderful experience of fellowship, friendship, and โ€œService Above Self.โ€

Together, through Rotary, we continue creating hope and impact across communities.
