The Rotary Club of Dharan is pleased to announce the successful completion of “Cyclofun 4.0 (10 KM Charity Fun Ride)” and “Cyclocross 3.0 (15 KM Mountain Bike Race)” on 28th March 2026 at Dharan, starting at 8:00 AM.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 150 cyclists representing different parts of Nepal, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Udayapur, Birtamod, Jhiljhilel, Pathari, Biratnagar, Itahari, Tarhara, and Dharan. The event also welcomed international participants from Siliguri, Darjeeling, and Forbesganj from India, making it a vibrant and diverse competition.
In the 15 KM Cyclocross race, Dip Sagar Tamang, Dharan secured first place by completing the race in an impressive 55 minutes. Kiran Rai from the Armed Police Force finished a close second at 55 minutes and 5 seconds, while Badal Limbu, Jhapa claimed third place with a time of 59 minutes and 21 seconds. Sammahng Limbu, Dharan secured fourth place (1 hour, 2 minutes, and 41 seconds), and Nima Sherpa from Udayapur finished fifth.
In the women’s category, Indrakala Nembang (NIKKI) achieved first place, while Padam Bahadur Thapa Magar, Dharan secured first position in the veteran (40+) category.
The winners were awarded medals, certificates, and cash prizes:
• First place: NPR 15,000
• Second place: NPR 10,000
• Third place: NPR 5,000
• Fourth place: NPR 3,000
• Fifth place: NPR 2,000
Additionally, the winner of the women’s category and the veteran category each received NPR 5,000 along with medals and certificates.
Alongside the competitive race, the event also featured “Cyclofun 4.0,” a 10 KM charity ride. The route started from Bhanu Chowk and concluded at Bhagwati Basic School, Dharan-16, passing through various parts of the city.
The funds raised from the event were utilized to construct a children’s playground at Bhagwati Basic School, Dharan 16. This initiative aims to support students’ recreation, physical development, and creative growth, leaving a lasting positive impact on the community.
The program was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Aindra Vikram Begha, Acting Mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City. Special guests included Ward No. 16 Chairperson Murari Prasad Bhattarai and School Management Committee Chairperson Sunil Nepal. Awards were also distributed across various categories, including recognition for participants with disabilities.
The event was successfully conducted under the capable leadership of Program Coordinator PP Rtn. Binaya Lal Shrestha.
