DRISTI Nepal implemented a pilot project in partnership with Family Planning Association Nepal (FPAN) and IPPF, not only to assess the existing situation within communities but also to ensure that community members receive accurate information, support, and guidance on accessing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services.

Access to SRH information and services is essential because it empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their bodies, health, and future. Yet many members continue to face barriers due to stigma, lack of awareness, distance, or limited access to services. By bringing information closer to communities and connecting people to service centers, we can help ensure that no one is left behind in exercising their health rights.

Every person deserves access to quality SRH services, and every step toward increasing awareness and accessibility contributes to healthier, safer, and more informed communities. - Dristi Nepal

Pride Month is more than celebration. It is a reminder of the ongoing fight for dignity, safety, and freedom. For LGBTQIA+ people who use drugs, stigma rarely comes from just one place. It can come from systems, communities, institutions, and even spaces that claim to be inclusive.

Intersectionality reminds us that people’s lives cannot be separated into neat categories. Rights, health, safety, and belonging are deeply connected. This Pride Month, Dristi Nepal stands in solidarity with those navigating multiple forms of marginalization and reaffirms that every person deserves dignity, care, respect, and the freedom to live without stigma.

दृष्टि नेपालले SRHR (यौन तथा प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य तथा अधिकार) को क्षेत्रमा धेरै लामो समयदेखि काम नगरेको नभए पनि, महिलाहरू जसले लागूऔषध प्रयोग गर्छन् उनीहरूको अवस्था, आवश्यकता तथा उनीहरूले भोगिरहेका चुनौतीहरूलाई बुझ्ने उद्देश्यले हामीले एक पाइलट प्रोजेक्ट सञ्चालन गरेका थियौं। उक्त कार्यक्रम पाल (FPAN) ,IPPF, परिवार नियोजन सङ्घ र दृष्टि नेपालको सहकार्यमा सञ्चालन गरिएको थियो।

यस पाइलट प्रोजेक्टमार्फत लागूऔषध प्रयोग गर्ने महिलाहरूलाई आवश्यक पर्ने स्वास्थ्य सेवा, काउन्सेलिङ, यौन तथा प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य सेवा तथा उनीहरूको अधिकारसम्बन्धी विषयहरूलाई अझ नजिकबाट बुझ्ने अवसर प्राप्त भयो।

हिजो दृष्टि नेपालले उक्त परियोजनाको कार्यक्रम, उपलब्धि, सिकाइ, पहिचान भएका समस्या तथा सिफारिसहरू साझेदारी गर्न महिला अधिकार, स्वास्थ्य तथा समुदायका क्षेत्रमा काम गरिरहेका विभिन्न सहयोगी संस्था, सरोकारवाला तथा समुदायसँग Dissemination Program आयोजना गरेको थियो।

यस कार्यक्रमको उद्देश्य केवल परियोजनाको नतिजा प्रस्तुत गर्नु मात्र नभई, आगामी दिनहरूमा हामी सबै मिलेर कसरी अझ प्रभावकारी रूपमा काम गर्न सक्छौं भन्ने विषयमा गहिरो छलफल गर्नु पनि थियो। लागूऔषध प्रयोग गर्ने महिलाहरू आज पनि समाज, सरकारी संरचना तथा आफ्नै परिवारबाट समेत विभिन्न प्रकारका कलंक र विभेदको सामना गरिरहेका छन्, जसले गर्दा उनीहरूको स्वास्थ्य, अधिकार र सम्मानजनक जीवनमा थप चुनौती सिर्जना भइरहेको छ।

कार्यक्रम अत्यन्त फलदायी रह्यो र कार्यक्रममा सहभागी भई आफ्ना विचार, अनुभव तथा साथ दिनुहुने सम्पूर्णमा हामी हार्दिक धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्दछौं।

समुदाय र सिमान्तकृत समुदायमा के हामी अझै पनि पछाडि पारिएका छौं ? के हाम्रो समुदायको आवाज, अनुभव, पीडा र सवालहरूको वास्तविक सुनुवाइ भएको छ ? यस्ता धेरै प्रश्नहरूको बीचमा हाम्रो समुदाय आजसम्म पनि आफ्ना मुद्दाहरू उठाउँदै, अधिकारका लागि संघर्ष गर्दै अगाडि बढिरहेको छ।

२० वर्ष लामो दृष्टि नेपालको यात्रामा पहिलो पटक यौन तथा प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य तथा अधिकार (SRHR) को क्षेत्रमा आफ्नो आवाजलाई अझ सशक्त बनाउँदै समुदायका दिदीबहिनीहरूलाई सेवा, पहुँच र जानकारीसँग जोड्ने प्रयासस्वरूप विगत एक वर्षदेखि विभिन्न गतिविधिहरूमार्फत काम गर्दै आइरहेको छ।

Family Planning Association of Nepal / International Planned Parenthood Federation को सहयोगमा पहिलो पटक यौन तथा प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य तथा अधिकार (SRHR) सम्बन्धी जानकारीसँगै हाम्रो समुदायले भोगिरहेको जोखिम, अवस्था र वास्तविकता दस्तावेजीकरण गर्ने प्रयास गरिएको छ।
