Brief introduction of Milan Club
Establishment:
Milan Club was set up with the aim of performing creative activities concerned with sports, culture and others social aspects by the energetic youths, social workers and intellects of Gunjanagar V.D.C. Introduction:-
Poverty, illiteracy, caste-based discrimination, m
isutilization of natural resources, environmental degradation, unmanageable population growth, lack of public awareness, poor health etc. are the factors which have been affecting to the whole society of the tiny and under developed country like Nepal. If those problems can be gradually worked out, the living standard of the people will be raised to some extend. Keeping this view in this mind, Milan Club was founded with the synergy endeavor of social workers, intellectual circle as well as sensitive youths of VDC Gunjanagar-5, Shashinagar and VDC dibyanagar-9 in the year 2041 B.S. / 1984 A.D. Having gained a wide esteem throughout the district through sports activities, it was duly registered in the district administrative office of Chitwan in 2047 B.S. / 1991 A.D. Similarly, it was affiliated to Social welfare Council in the fiscal year 2058 B.S. / 2004 A.D. Since then, it has been conducting a lot of activities regarding the improvement of the society, the well-wishers of the club, local intellects along with the committee members left no stone unturned to collect aids, donations from different donor agencies and the locals and thus managed to buy home-plot for the club's own building recently, the club has been able to build its own building as well. Milan Club is situated at Ward No- 5, Shashinagar, and V.D.C. Gunjanagar in the region of Chitwan. The Milan Club is about 165 km far to the west from the capital of the country. The district head quarters, Bharatpur is approximately 18 km far to the east from the club (Gunjanagar VDC) Dibyanagar VDC lies to the south-west and the river Narayani flows through its northern parts. Milan Club aims at:-
Transforming the society in accordance with the need of time rooting out the existing superstitions and blind faiths. Involving youth in various social activities for the nation in an organized way. Playing the major role for rural development. Lunching development activities and promoting income generating. (Remunerative) programs to meet the need and demand of the community. Providing consultancy services regarding social development. Conducting income generating programs and skill oriented training at the rural level. Forming citizenry able to make prompt contribution towards religious and cultural, traditions, voluntarily. Establishing mutual relationship and co-operation with the concerned local agencies, organization, banks etc. Developing the organization as a helping hand and resources organization for the needy. Making apt utilization of the scattered amount of the money with the local individuals through saving. Encourage the participation of women, down-trodden, backward people in social and economic programs for their upliftment and development. Major Anniversary events of Milan Club:-
In 2041 B.S./ 1984 A.D.: Construction of passengers waiting house at Milan Chowk and foundation of library. In 2042 B.S. / 1985 A.D. participation and winning third prize in district level folk song competition and conduction of various cultural programs. In 2043 B.S. / 1986 A.D. participation and winning first prize in district level volleyball competition. In 2044 B.S. / 1987 A.D. conduction of district level volleyball competition and quiz contest. In 2045 B.S. / 1988 A.D. purchase of land (Home plot) with the donation from different individual donors and donors agencies and conduction of district level volleyball competition. In 2046 B.S. / 1989 A.D. accomplishment of inter-club open volleyball competition and construction of Ganesh temple. In 2047 B.S. / 1990 A.D. accomplishment of inter-school quiz contest. In 2049 B.S. / 1992 A.D. demonstration of one-act play relating family planning and conduction of quiz contest. In 2051 B.S. / 1994 A.D. construction of make-shift office (roofing tin sponsored by "The Reyukai Nepal" Gunjanagar unit) operation of public telephone service and revival of the library. In 2052 / 053 B.S. / 1996 A.D. accomplishment of lottery program for the development of the club, conduction of intellects interaction seminar on / against Drug Abuse and conduction of informal child literacy class with the help of UNICEF. In 2054 B.S. / 1997 A.D. conduction of adult literacy classes. In 2055/056 B.S. / 1999 A.D. provided land for building construction to veterinary service center Gunjanagar, and received donation from district development committee for the construction of clubs own building. In 2056/057 B.S. / 2000 A.D. Tree plantation within the club premises and started construction of club building with the receipt of additional donation from district development committee Chitwan. In 2058 B.S. / 2001 A.D. lunched alcohol and drug abuse control campaign, Tree plantation within the club premises, receipt additional donation from district development committee. In 2059 B.S. / 2002 A.D. accomplished Grand Fund Raising Religious Programs (Dhana-dhanyanchal) along with the co-ordination and joined effort of lower secondary school Shashinagar and Lower secondary school Ratapur, conducted sports activities. In 2060 B.S. / 2003 A.D. accomplished sports activities, toilet construction, renovation of the passengers waiting house and building construction and purchase of furniture. In 2061 B.S. / 2004 A.D. conducted district level volleyball as well as some events of athletics, accomplished a Grand Humorous-Cum-Cultural show with the participation and honor of the national level artistes. Other social performances / Activities of the club:-
Milan Club has been providing a – wide range of income generating programs as well as skill-oriented training to the poor, helpless, down-trodden, backward and deprived people since its establishment. Besides these the club has been conducting programs like quiz contest, drawing and painting, drinking water supply, rescue operations, informal child literacy class, adult literacy classes, sanitation, blood donation, tree plantation, sports, skill oriented programs for the women, library conducting and so on. Services provided by Milan Club:-
A well-facilitated and furnished hall having the capacity of 400 peoples on rent for marriage, parties, seminars and other similar ceremonies. Chairs on hire. Consultancy services for social development. Trainers for various trainings. Trainings targeting especially for the poor, helpless and backward class of peoples.
