This photo was taken on an HKC field trip in 2017. One of our former Happy Kids posted it recently with the following caption about her time at Happy Kids Center as a young girl:
“I often find myself reminiscing about the old days too, when everything felt carefree and our smiles were genuine. We would spend hours playing outside, making up games, and finding joy in the little things, The laughter we shared seemed endless, and there was a certain magic in those moments that made everything feel perfect. It’s amazing how those memories can bring warmth to our hearts, reminding us of the innocence and happiness of childhood. Sometimes, I wish we could go back to those simpler times, where worries felt distant and happiness was just a smile away. Those days taught us to appreciate the little joys in life, and I hold onto those memories dearly ❤️”

When we launched the school lunch program in 2018 at Dyola Primary School, we knew it would make a difference—but the impact has been transformative.

Before this program, many of our community’s children didn’t attend school regularly. Hunger and the financial strain of providing meals often meant families had to make impossible choices. But with daily school lunches and after-school snacks like eggs, porridge, and fruit, we’ve turned barriers into bridges.

Since launching the program:
- School enrollment has doubled, with more children attending and staying in school.
- Parents can send their children to school knowing they’ll have a warm, nutritious meal waiting for them.
- Children now come to class ready to learn, focus, and grow.

For our Happy Kids, these meals mean more than nourishment—they’re a step toward breaking the cycle of poverty and building a brighter future.

In our early days, we partnered with Siddhi Memorial Women and Children’s Hospital to assess the health of our Happy Kids. The results were alarming: 70% of the children were severely underweight.

That’s when we knew our mission had to go beyond education. To learn and thrive, children first need to be healthy.

Here’s how we’re making that happen:
🌟 Bi-annual health camps provide thorough medical check-ups for all our kids. Diagnoses are followed by comprehensive treatment, fully funded by Happy Kids Center.
🌟 Personalized nutrition plans for children with the greatest need, developed in partnership with expert nutritionists.
🌟 A holistic approach that addresses malnutrition while promoting long-term well-being.

Since launching these programs, our Happy Kids are growing stronger—physically, emotionally, and academically. They’re healthier, more confident, and able to focus on learning, playing, and dreaming about the future.
