Introduction:
Some young & vibrant person with disabilities (PWDs) & some concerned intellectuals of Bhaktapur realized strong need of an organization, which works for the equalizing rights & opportunities for person with disabilities (PWDs) in optimum level. The year 2067/68 & household survey related to disability done by Community Based Rehabilitation Organization (CBRO)-Bhaktpur in Bhaktapur d

istrict about 4107 or 2% of total population of Bhaktapur district registered the name list of people having disability. Realizing the fact VOICE FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY (VEO)-BHAKTAPUR was established in 1996 sep 7th (2053 Bhadra 21st). The theme "Equal Participation of opportunity our necessary." The organization is registered to District Administration Office (DAO) Bhaktapur according to organization registration act 2034 BS. The organization is affiliated to National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal (NFD-Nepal) & Social Welfare Council 2053/05/30. Vision:
Voice for Equal Opportunity envisages an inclusive society in Bhaktapur District where all human rights of persons/children with disabilities (C/PWDs) will be ensured & each of them will be enjoying all rights, services & opportunities in an equal basis & living dignified life independently in a barrier free environment. Mission:
Make Voice for Equal Opportunity as the leading, influential & strong Disabled People’s Organization in Bhaktapur for facilitating Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to enjoy all rights, services, & opportunities which they are entitled to have from state & society in an equal basis & developing a barrier free environment for them. Goals:
Achieve Positive attitudes & behavior of society & states for promoting the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bhaktpaur. Achieve barrier free environment for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bhaktapur
Achieve meaningful participation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in decisions making process & adequate local resource for promoting the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bhaktapur. Achieve maximum independent living of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bhaktapur. Achieve full access of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in education, health, livelihood, empowerment, assistive devices & personal attendants. Strategies:
Mobilization of PWDs to develop the potential. Mobilization of existing resource for the betterment of persons with disabilities (PWDs) as much as possible. Strengthen the organizational capacity to sustain the program. Objectives:
Contribute for developing inclusive society in Bhaktapur by including persons with disabilities (PWDs) in development processes. Promote the access of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in health, education, livelihood, social participation & assistive devices by facilitating in the effective implementation of legal provisions, provisions mentioned in UNCRPD & disability related other programs. Advocate for having adequate local resource in disability issues & facilitate for optimum mobilizations for the betterment of persons with disabilities (PWDs). Promote general mobility & social participation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) by facilitating for developing barrier free environment. Change the attitudes of society & state towards persons with disabilities (PWDs) & get their special attention & actions for promoting their rights. Develop strong coordination & solidarity among the local government & non government stakeholders & parents groups working on disability rights. Develop & mobilize capable persons with disabilities (PWDs) in advocacy, leadership & networking. Current Activities:

Awareness rising on various issues of disability in community & district level. Trainings on leadership, advocacy, proposal making, management etc. Orientation to local stakeholders on disability related laws, UNCRPD, policies & programs of government, barrier free environment, causes of disabilities & so on. Advocacy & lobbying for the effective implementation of disability related legal provisions, policies & programs in Bhakptaur. Advocacy & Lobbying with government stakeholders for making the public place barrier free for persons with disabilities (PWDs). Current Partners:

Door to Door Education Program for the Sever Children/Persons with Disability
Introduction:
Now a days it is not necessary that education can be only gain in school this concept has become old. As per the necessicity education can be gain staying at home. As main objective is getting education state should be open & positive towards different alternatives. Thus, keeping in mind Voice for Equal Opportunity(VEO)-Bhaktapur has been providing door to door education to the physically/multiple sever children with disability. This program has specially focused to those who cannot go to school & who had dropped out from school due to the various reasons. Since 2011 students will get admitted in near school & operation of regular classes for sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs) as their own home by mobilize the teacher & take class of two hours for each student. For academic year of 2068 BS. certain financial support has been obtained from Suvadra Foundation-Nepal & District Disabled Co-ordination Committee. This program has been launched with six sever children with disability according to academic curriculum of school this organization is searching for the partner agencies to give continuity of the program. This program is much more effective for the physical/multiple sever children with disability (CWDs) who cannot go to school. There has become improvement in their learning. According to disability household survey of 2067/68 done by Community Based Rehabilitation Organization CBRO-Bhaktapur, there is total 4107 person with disabilities in bhaktapur district. Among them 238 people with full sever disabilities (category A) & 947 people with sever disabilities (category B) in the bhaktapur district. On the basis of educational point of view, there are total 144 children with disabilities (CWDs) age of (4-20) are barrier from education still now. In same way 278 children with disabilities (CWDs) age of (4-20) has dropped out from education due to various reasons in bhaktapur district. Altogether 422 children with disabilities are barrier from education. Among them in bhaktapur municipality 21 children with disabilities (CWDs) age of (4-19) are barrier from education still now. In same way 62 children with disabilities (CWDs) age of (4-19) has dropped out from education due to various reasons. We can way altogether 83 children with disabilities are barrier from education in bhaktapur municipality. Targeted Beneficiaries:
We mostly those people with physical & multiple disability, who lies in A category (i.e. Full Sever Disability) & B category (i.e. Sever Disability) according to the definition & classification of disability in Nepal, have been facing such types of deprivation. Basically those school going age physical/multiple sever children with disabilities who cannot go to school because of their physical functional limitations, lack of regular personal assistant, difficult geographical condition & long walking distance to school. Objectives:
Providing equal oppournity of education to sever physical/multiple children with disabilities (CWDs) through special & inclusive education. Contribute to the development of social participation & other empowerment of sever physical/multiple children with disabilities (CWDs). Reduce the frustration to the sever physical/multiple children with disabilities (CWDs). To develop well trained teacher/manpower. Programs:
Operation of regular classes for sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs) as their own home by mobiliz the teacher. Training in handling a student’s having sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs) to teacher. Personal record keeping of each student, home visit & counseling to the parents of the educational development of their children. Participation of sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs) games & extra activities together with other students. Regular interactions with parents for the educational progress of sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs). Organize educational tour, picnic program, para-olympic/special olympic games, celebration of international disabled day & joint calibration of various festivals. Challenges:
Many sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs) living as own home who has dropped out from education due to their physical challenges in Bhaktapur are still without educational opportunity due to the lack of residential facilities in school & they cannot get proper environments in normal schools. The physical infrastructure & education materials to run the classes are not good enough. Well trained manpower is not available. Due to financial problems the door to door education programmes is not able to appoint well trained teachers for handling those sever physical/multiple children with disability (CWDs).
