Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating floods and landslides across Nepal, especially the families who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. We stand in solidarity with the affected communities in Rasuwa and with the rescue workers, security personnel, volunteers, and local communities working tirelessly to save lives.

At this difficult moment, please stay calm, vigilant, and informed. Follow official safety instructions, avoid flooded rivers and unstable areas, and check on children, older people, and those who may need additional support.

This tragedy is also another powerful reminder that disaster readiness saves lives. Preparedness at the household, community, and institutional level, including early warnings, emergency plans, evacuation routes, essential supplies, and locally trained responders, must be prioritized and strengthened before disasters strike.

Position: Project Consultant

Position Overview:

The Project Consultant will support the delivery of community-based sessions and capacity-building activities under the organization’s LGBTQI+ crisis response and displacement-prevention initiative. The role focuses on strengthening the resilience, safety, and rights awareness of LGBTQI+ individuals (with particular attention to rural and marginalized communities) through structured sessions on key protection and support topics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure sessions are accessible, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and adapted to local contexts (including rural settings).
• Contribute to the development of simple tools, materials, or guidance that support ongoing community responders and peer networks.
• Maintain strict confidentiality, do-no-harm principles, and safeguarding standards in all interactions.
• Coordinate with the project team on session planning, documentation, and feedback.

Requirements:

• Solid knowledge of LGBTIQ+ legal rights and protections in Nepal’s context.
• Experience delivering training, facilitation, or similar community education/support sessions is desirable.
• Understanding of issues affecting LGBTQI+ people in crisis or displacement-risk situations, mental health, or community advocacy is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexibly, respectfully, and securely with diverse and high-risk groups.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills; commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
• Fluency in Nepali and English.

If this sounds like you, please send your CV/Resume and Cover Letter to [email protected] with the subject line "Project Consultant".

Compensation:
