Making our streets safer for street cattle and for everyone on the road🐮🐄
On 15 Asoj 2083 (1 Oct 2026), Vets for Animal Welfare (VFAW), in collaboration with Siddharthanagar Municipality, ran a Reflective Collar Installation Program for street cattle in Siddharthanagar, Rupandehi.

At night, many street cattle rest or wander on the road, and dark-coloured animals are almost impossible to see. This puts both animals and road users at risk of accidents.

So we set out to fit reflective collars on street cattle, which light up when vehicle headlights fall on them, so drivers can spot them from a distance. Our teams gave priority to main roads and accident-prone areas. Some cattle made the job a little tricky, but patient handling and strong teamwork got every collar on safely.
A big thank you to:
🙏 Siddharthanagar Municipality for the coordination and support
🙏 Our student volunteers, who spent the day in the field
🙏 Everyone who cares about animal welfare and road safety
Do you spot collared cattle on your route? Tell us in the comments!

What Does Our Community Really Know About Rabies?

We took to the streets of Siddharthanagar to hear what local people know, believe, and would do after a dog bite.

🎤 We asked simple questions about rabies, its spread, bite management, and seeking medical care.

Their responses highlighted both awareness and misconceptions—while giving us an opportunity to share one essential message:

Wash the wound. Seek medical care. Don’t delay.

Because timely action can save a life.

Let’s listen. Let’s learn. Let’s prevent Rabies.
