Himalayan Yokpu Foundation

At the request of the Himalayan Yokpu Foundation and Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Trust and with the generous support of Schülerhilfe für Nepal the main donor organizations, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the General Ward Building of Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Hospital was successfully conducted on 12th December 2025. The building will be constructed under the leadership of the Lumsa Sherpa Foundation.

The program was held under the chief guest German Mingmar Sherpa and chaired by Ward No. 10 Chairman, Mr. Hom B. Magar.

The Himalayan Yokpu Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude and deep respect to the Lumsa Sherpa Foundation, and all individuals and organizations involved for their huge and generous support toward strengthening healthcare services in our community. Your commitment and initiative will have a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Heartfelt Condolence

With profound sorrow, we share the passing of Mrs. Sumi Sherpa, the loving mother of Himalayan Yokpu Foundation Chairperson Mrs. Lakpa Sherpa and the devoted wife of the late Mr. Wongchhu Sherpa. She left us untimely at the age of 58 on 2082/05/09 (B.S.) at 10:00 AM at her residence in Balaju, Kathmandu.

Her kindness, gentle nature, and motherly love touched everyone around her. She will be forever remembered as a source of warmth and inspiration to her family, friends, and community. This loss is deeply painful not only for the bereaved family but also for all of us who knew and respected her.

In this moment of grief, we humbly join in prayer for the eternal peace of her departed soul and extend our heartfelt condolences to Chairperson Mrs. Lakpa Sherpa and the entire family. May God grant them strength, courage, and comfort during this most difficult time.

The mortal body of late Mrs. Sumi Sherpa is kept at Room No. 1 of Sherpa Monastery, Boudha for final tributes. The cremation ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 2082/05/11 (B.S.). We kindly inform all relatives, friends, and well-wishers to join in offering their final respects.
