We are deeply honoured that the outcomes of The Last Mile Digital Health Summit 2026 continue to inform important national conversations on the future of healthcare in Nepal.

Following the summit, Hon. Neesha Mehta, Minister for Health and Food Safety, invited Smart Health Global and representatives from participating municipalities and Swasthya Khabar Foundation to present the key recommendations from the summit and discuss practical pathways for strengthening telehealth and digital health across Nepal—particularly for remote and underserved communities in Sudurpashchim and Karnali Provinces.

This meeting represented more than a review of the summit. It reflected a shared commitment to translating ideas into action by exploring how digital health can strengthen the existing health system, support frontline health workers, improve referral pathways, and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for every citizen.

We sincerely thank Hon. Minister Neesha Mehta, the Ministry of Health and Food Safety, and the Ministry leadership for your time, openness, and commitment to advancing a safe, interoperable, inclusive, and sustainable digital health ecosystem for Nepal.

This achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of many individuals and organizations. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Badimalika Municipality, Budhiganga Municipality, Budhinanda Municipality, and Triveni Municipality, Bajura, whose leadership and commitment made The Last Mile Digital Health Summit 2026 possible.

Our sincere gratitude also goes to Swasthya Khabar Patrika and Foundation, our speakers, moderators, presenters, health professionals, frontline health workers, researchers, universities, development partners, sponsors, volunteers, media partners, and every participant who generously shared their knowledge, experience, and vision. Your contributions transformed the summit into a truly collaborative national platform.

At Smart Health Global, we remain committed to working alongside the Government of Nepal, provincial and local governments, healthcare institutions, academic partners, development partners, and communities as a trusted technical partner to support the design, implementation, and scale-up of practical digital health solutions that strengthen Nepal’s health system.

The summit may have concluded, but our shared journey has only just begun.

Together, we can ensure that no citizen is denied quality healthcare because of where they live.

🎉 A Historic Milestone for Digital Health in Nepal! 🇳🇵

What began in the remote communities of Bajura has now reached the national stage.

Today, The Last Mile Digital Health Summit 2026 – Kathmandu Summit concluded successfully, bringing together parliamentarians, policymakers, government officials, local government leaders, health professionals, researchers, academia, development partners, innovators, civil society, and the private sector to shape the future of digital health in Nepal.

The summit reinforced a shared vision: Digital health is not simply about technology—it is about ensuring that every person, regardless of where they live, has equitable access to quality healthcare.

Throughout the day, inspiring discussions, practical experiences, and policy dialogues highlighted the importance of:
• People-centred digital health systems
• Stronger frontline health workers
• Telehealth for remote communities
• Interoperable and connected health systems
• Sustainable investment and local ownership
• Collaboration across all levels of government and partners

The journey from Bajura → Dhangadhi → Kathmandu has shown that innovation from Nepal's last mile can help shape national policy and strengthen the country's health system.

On behalf of Smart Health Global, we sincerely thank the Ministry of Health and Food Safety for its invaluable support, coordination, and leadership in making this summit a success.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Funding Partners and Supporters:
🇩🇪 German Cooperation, implemented by GIZ
💚 Green Tara Nepal
♿ Handicap International
🎓 Omega Education Park
🌏 Global Envirotech Initiative Asia

Our sincere gratitude also goes to our organizing municipalities, speakers, moderators, presenters, volunteers, media partners, technical team, and every participant who contributed their expertise, passion, and commitment to this national movement.

This summit is not the destination—it is the beginning.

Together, we will continue working to transform ideas into action, partnerships into impact, and digital innovation into better health for every community in Nepal.
