As a Movement established to look into the welfares of the Gambia's female creatives and ensures gender justice in the country through advocacy; we are hereby expressing our heartfelt sympathy to a female singer by the name Moon Light following her dispute with her former manager.

According to reports gathered by Citizens Outlook, the young female artist was beaten up by her former manager and that's something unacceptable.

We stand in solidarity with the young singer and we shall endeavor to work with her in her predicament.

Meanwhile, male players in the Gambia's Entertainment Industry are urged to be sympathisers of female creatives and safeguarding accompaniments of women and not otherwise.

Police in the Kanifing Region have arrested several alleged members of the notorious “Oryx Gang” following a successful intelligence-led operation.

The group is linked to a string of recent offenses, including theft, intimidation, and public nuisance.

All suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution as investigations wrap up.

If only we could have all men in the world as activists; then we would be able to have a better world safer for women and children.

However, days like International Women’s Day are not enough for us to be around women and listen to their phenomenal music and out cry but we must be every day confidants, samaritans and titans for women so as to protect their lives and livelihoods.

We must also be ready to extinguish sexual and gender based violence, FGM and all forms of SGBVs in Africa.

As a movement established in the Gambia, we will always operate by our core-values which is to protect female thespians in the music industry of the Gambia and persuade male artists to be activists for women in our creative industries. For women are formidable luminaries; not liabilities.

God bless the female artists of the Gambia!!🇬🇲

Today; we reloaded this very important masterpiece captured on the 25th of April last year at the launch event of the movement to celebrate the international women’s day which is generally celebrated by women of the world on the 8th of March every year.

This extract was the speech podium of our able CEO and Co-Founder Ambassador Dembo Jobarteh in his proactive approach in the fight against sexual and gender based violence and in the promotion of gender justice in the music industry of the Gambia.

Ambassador Jali Susso 2025 Gender Cup Winner at the 2026 The HeforShe Music Movement First Training Cohort of Gambian Creatives on sexual and gender based violence and positive masculinity has an EXCLUSIVE module on “CAREER GUIDANCE & COUNSELING” presented by our garrulous project Co-Founder and CEO Ambassador D Jobz (Baddest Manager) and he did extremely well in his presentation.

Now, it all ended up with joy and laughter, self evaluations and honest conversations where the understanding of the participants were gauged and perspectives given. The Movement will be organizing the second phase of this very important training soon and those creatives who were left will surely be part of it.

Many thanks to our partners Fantanka and all those music industry stakeholders who came together for this very important training.

After concluding the Movement’s 2-day training on sexual and gender based violence & positive masculinity in partnership with Fantanka; our outspoken CEO Ambassador D Jobz gives his overview statement about the training and the stance of the Movement for Gambia’s female thespians.

He also reiterated that private, government and donor organizations should augment the the movement for availability of more funds for the movement so that such trainings could be organized so often.

He also urged the Gambia’s creative industries male thespians to be HeforShe activists for female thespians and accommodate them on the scale of career advancement.
