We are a non-profit foundation. Our vision is to reduce child mortality. We want to start sustainable projects that will change the future for children at risk! We want to reduce child mortality by ensuring that children receive food, saf
ety and education. Ucare project is an independent organization. Our administration consists solely of voluntaries, meaning that 100% of the contributions goes directly to our projects. We attempt to involve the locals in our projects in order for them to become sustainable in the long run. The leader and founder of the organization, Lovise, got the inspiration for her work during a period as a volunteer in Arusha, Tanzania in 2013. Together with Eirik, her boyfriend, she started a knitting project in February 2014. The project consisted of knitting wool-incubators for newborns and premature babies in Arusha. Eirik has also worked as a volunteer in Equador. They are both in medical school, and want to dedicate their lives to helping others. In the summer of 2014, the organization Unconditional Care Project was founded in cooperation with several other medical students, who also participated on the same trip to Arusha. We now have a board consisting of ten members, with different areas of knowledge and experience. OUR PROJECTS:
Today we have two main projects: Project Kisumu, and Children´s Education Project. We also support girls through our girl effect project, and we support pamoja basketball project. PROJECT KISUMU:
In Project Kisumu we are building and running a development center in Kisumu, Kenya. The project got started because of our friend Maurice. Maurice is from Kisumu, he is married, has two children and works as a pastor in a local church. When Maurice was born, he lost his mother. Twelve years later, he became an orphan when he lost his father to HIV/AIDS. Maurice has managed to make a good life for himself, and carries a dream of helping the orphans in his city. Maurice does what he can to help the children by giving them food and school uniforms. By building a development center in Kisumu, we are helping Maurice realizing his dream. We want to create a safe environment, where the childen at greatest risk will recieve help. The children will recieve two meals per day. We want to increase their quality of life through contact with adults that have plenty of love to give, social community with other children, and make sure they recieve nutritious food. There will also be facilitated time for different activities such as singing, sport and teaching them to become independent through education. The children will be taught about nutrition, hygiene, agriculture and respect for each other. Because we believe that education is the key to fighting poverty, there will also be specific times of day when the children will do their homework in groups. Please help us by donating to our cause! With this project we are founding primary school for the children in Kisumu, Kenya.
