SPE International is the world's largest individual-member organization within the oil and gas industry. We are the local student chapter in Stavanger, representing SPE International. Our main goal is to connect student members with the industry and provide a platform where you can enhance both your social and professional network. Last thursday we had the pleasure of hosting a Company Connect with AGR at the University of Stavanger! 🌟

with a strong turnout of highly engaged students present, it was a great opportunity to connect and explore more about the different possible career paths within the company 💫

A big thank you to AGR for taking the time to join us and share their knowledge and experiences with the students. We really appreciate the collaboration and look forward to future opportunities!

🎓 Student Technical Congress (STC) 2026 – Scholarships Available!

From April 8th to 10th 2026, The University of Clausthal, Germany, will become the hub of ideas, teamwork and technical competition at STC 2026 - Student Technical Congress.

At STC 2026, there will be Paper & Poster Presentations, with categories open for bachelor, master and doctorate students.

Price for attending all three days:

€150 (Euros) which covers housing plus breakfast, lunch and dinner.

📅 Registration deadline:

15th of February

The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering is awarding three scholarships of NOK 6,500 each to the best paper and poster abstracts selected for presentation at STC 2026. The scholarship covers the full STC participation tee (€150).

📅 Important deadline for scholarship:

Submit your abstract by 5th of February.

🏆 Selection:
Winners will be announced one week before the registration deadline and selected by a committee from the Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering.

Two weeks ago we hosted our annual Christmas party, and it turned out to be a wonderful and cozy evening! ❄️✨ with great conversations, good company, and a festive holiday atmosphere, it made it a night to remember 🎄🎅

We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holidays, and we are already looking forward to seeing all of you in the new year! 🎉🌟

We are proud to share that the our team from University of Stavanger (UiS) - Tore Andersen Nygård , Nader Koleib and Farid Vahabzada competed in the 2025 PetroBowl Competition in Houston last month! The team delivered an impressive performance and showed great determination, even though they did not take the win this time. Competing on the global stage against top universities was an honour and a remarkable achievement for our team! ✨🏆
