Caritas Stavanger Caritas Stavanger is an aid organisation that supports immigrants, asylum seekers in Norway and others in need as they find their place in Norwegian society.

We offer guidance, language learning support, and additional assistance when needed. Welcome ! Caritas Stavanger har følgende tilbud:

🌑☀️ Did you see the sky last night? 🌑☀️

Yesterday evening, Stavanger got a front-row seat to something special: a partial solar eclipse! Around 85% of the sun was covered just before sunset, and the sky looked a little different for a while. The weather also decided to be nice to us too, and even though we had some clouds, we were able to appreciate the eclipse with clarity! 😎

And if the eclipse wasn’t enough, later the same night we were treated to the Perseids meteor shower! 🫶

“Vikingsummer in the Museum of Archaeology” is a activity offer for the summer for children till the age of 18 years old👶👧

Caritas Stavanger invites you to the Museum of Archaeology!
Discover myths, magic and the lives of Vikings through games and activities in “Yggdrasil”. Get to know the Vikings in the “World of the Vikings” exhibition.
Other activities at the Museum
Discover the activity exhibition “Yggdrasil” – dress up as a Viking and learn real “Vikingskills”
Play the exciting Viking game “Hnefatafl”
Go on a treasure hunt through the exhibitions
And many more exciting activities!👌

Important times:
09.40: Meet up at the Caritas Stavanger office. Address: St. Olavs gate 25, 4005 Stavanger
09.55: Walk all together to the Museum of Archaeology. Address: Peder Klows gate 30A, 4010 Stavanger
13.30: Participants can go home at this time. If the participants wish to stay longer, it’s at your own responsibility.

There’s a café inside the Museum if you wish to buy your lunch there. It is still recommended to bring your own food and something to drink.

Visit to the Iron Age Farm at Ullandhaug for everyone!

Summer is finally here and the people of the Iron Age farm welcomes you to the farm!

The summer programme at the farm is full of exciting activities for those who want to learn about how life was lived 1500 years ago!

Each participant must pay for their own public transportation ticket!

Important times:
6th of August
09.20: Meet up at the Caritas Stavanger office. Address: St. Olavs gate 25, 4005 Stavanger
09.40: Walk all together to the bus stop “Vaktapoteket A”
09.46: Take bus nr. 7 from the bus stop “Vaktapoteket A”
10.00: Arrive at the bus stop “UiS Nord”, walk all together to the Iron Age Farm. Address: Madlamarkveien 152, 4021 Stavanger
13.30: Participants can go home at this time. If the participants wish to stay longer, it’s at their own responsibility.

Are you a native English speaker who loves helping others? 💛

We're looking for a volunteer English teacher for our A1 English group at Caritas Stavanger!🧐

Our A1 learners are taking their very first steps in learning English. You don't need to be a professional teacher, just someone who is patient, encouraging, and willing to help others build their confidence and language skills.

We're also looking for volunteers to help with our English Conversation Club🧐

If you enjoy meeting new people and creating a friendly environment where participants can practice speaking English, we'd love to hear from you!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group from 🤝

They offered a free legal consultation for our visitors, providing valuable guidance and support on a range of legal matters.
After the consultation, we had the opportunity to share more about the work we do at Caritas Stavanger, while learning about their important work as well. Together, we explored ways our organizations can cooperate and support one another in the future😊

It was a lively, inspiring, and thought-provoking conversation, and we look forward to future collaboration! 👍
